TOWN WARRANT.


ESSEX, SS. To Samuel G. Bean, one of the Constables of the Town of Andover, GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Andover, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet and assemble at the Town House, in said Ando- ver, on Monday, the 7th day of March next, at twelve o'clock at noon, to act on the following articles, namely :


1st. To choose a Moderator to preside in said meeting.


2d. To choose a Town Clerk for the year ensuing.


3d. To hear and act on the Report of the Auditors.


4th. To choose Selectmen, Assessors, Overseers of the Poor, Town Treasurer, one member of the School Committee for one year and one member for three years, Constables, and all other usual and necessary town officers.


5th. To see what sum of money the Town will raise for the repairs of the Highways the ensuing year.


6th. To see what methods the Town will adopt for the re- pairs of the Highways.


7th. To see if the Town will authorize the Prudential Com- mittees of the several school districts to select and contract with teachers for the several school districts.


8th. To see what sum of money the Town will raise for the maintenance of their public schools for the year ensuing.


9th. To see what method the Town will adopt to apportion the school money among the school districts.


10th. To see what sum of money the town will raise to de- fray the necessary expenses accruing the year ensuing.


11th. To see what method the Town will adopt for the col- lection of the public Taxes the ensuing year.

12th. £ To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treas- urer to hire money for the use of the Town when necessary.


13th. To determine what compensation the Town will pay to Firemen for their services the ensuing year.


14th. To see if the Town will accept and revise the list of Jurors prepared and posted by the Selectmen.


15th. To see if the Town will refund to Henry A. Gould certain damages paid by him, in consequence of impounding cattle illegally ; the Town at the time having no legal Pound Keeper.


16th. To see if the Town will continue to pay State aid to the families of volunteers as provided for by the laws of this Commonwealth relating thereto.


17th. To see what action the Town will take in reference to suppressing the unlawful sale of intoxicating liquors in the town the ensuing year, on petition of W. F. Draper and others.


18th. To act on any other business that may legally come before said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of meeting as aforesaid.
