AUDITORS' REPORT.


We have examined the account of the Treasurer for the year end- ing Feb. 28, 1881, and find it correctly cast, the receipts and pay- ments properly entered and vouched, and the balance ($2,270.89) actually in his hands.


We have also examined the bills and receipts in the hands of the Selectmen, and find them to vouch for orders amounting to $15,- 193.61, of which $14,932.28 has been paid by the Treasurer, and $261.33 is outstanding.

COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.


MIDDLESEX, SS.


To either of the Constables of the Town of Chelmsford, in said County. GREETING :


You are hereby required, in the name of the Commonwealth afore- said, to notify and warn all the inhabitants of said town qualified to vote in elections, and also in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall at Chelmsford Centre, on Monday, the twenty-first day of March next, being the third Monday in said month, at nine o'clock, A. M., then and there to act on the following articles, to wit :


ARTICLE 1. To choose a moderator.


ART. 2. To hear reports of town officers and committees, and act thereon.


ART. 3. To determine the manner of collecting the taxes.


ART. 4. To determine the manner of repairing the highways, townways, and bridges.


ART. 5. To choose all necessary town officers.


ART. 6. To act in relation to the list of jurors prepared by the Selectmen.


ART. 7. To raise and appropriate such sums of money as may be necessary to defray town charges for the ensuing year.


ART. 8. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer to borrow such sums of money as may be necessary for the payment of the demands upon him, in anticipation of the taxes of the ensuing year, and payable therefrom.


ART. 9. To see if the town will vote to grant licenses for the sale of intox- icating liquors for the current year.


ART. 10. At the request of D. A. Bussell and others, to see whether the town will, by its vote or otherwise, ask the legislature to ex- tend to women, who are citizens, the right to hold town offices and to vote in town affairs, on the same terms as male citizens.


ART. 11. To see if the town will vote to insure the new Town Hall or other public buildings, or act in relation thereto.


ART. 12. To see if the town will vote to repair and paint the fence around the common at the centre of the town, or act in relation thereto.

WARRANT.


ART. 13. At the request of George A. Parkhurst and others, to see if the town will vote to build a range of horse-sheds upon the town land near the new Town Hall in the centre village, and appro- priate money therefor, or act in relation thereto.


ART. 14. At the request of Dawson Pollard and others, to see if the town will vote to purchase land for the enlargement of the ceme- tery at West Chelmsford, or act in relation thereto.


ART. 15. At the request of George F. Dyar, to see if the town will vote to pay him the sum of Twenty-five dollars, for services rendered as Secretary of School Board, or act in relation thereto.


ART. 16. To see if the town will vote to pay J. J. Hoyt for lamps used in Town Hall, North Chelmsford, or act in relation thereto.


And you are directed to serve this warrant, by posting up attested copies thereof at the post-offices in the centre of the town and South Chelmsford, at the post-offices at North Chelmsford, West Chelms- ford, and at the school-house at East Chelmsford, ten days at least before the time for holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make return of this warrant, with your do- ings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of holding the meeting aforesaid.
