AUDITORS' REPORT.


We have examined the account of the Treasurer for the year ending February 28, 1882, and find it correct, and that there is a balance, belonging to the town, of $2,804.61 actually in his hands.


We have also examined the vouchers in the hands of the Select- men, and find them to cover orders drawn on the Treasurer, in the same year, amounting to $14,672.40, of which those amounting to $113 are outstanding.

COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.


MIDDLESEX SS.


To either of the Constables in the Town of Chelmsford, in said County, GREETING :


You are hereby required, in the name of the Commonwealth afore- said, to notify and warn all the inhabitants of said town qualified to vote in elections, and also in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall at North Chelmsford, on Monday, the twentieth day of March next, being the third Monday in said month, at nine o'clock A. M., then and there to act on the following articles, to wit :


· ARTICLE 1. To choose a moderator.


ART. 2. To hear reports of town officers and committees, and act thereon.


ART. 3. To determine the manner of collecting the taxes.


ART. 4. To determine the manner of repairing the highways, townways, and bridges.


ART. 5. To choose all necessary town officers.


ART. 6. To act in relation to the list of jurors prepared by the selectmen.


ART. 7. To raise and appropriate such sums of money as may be necessary to defray town charges for the ensuing year.


ART. 8. To see if the town will authorize the treasurer to borrow such sums of money as may be necessary for the payment of the demands upon him, in anticipation of the taxes of the ensu- ing year, and payable therefrom.


ART. 9. To see if the town will vote to grant licenses for the sale of intoxi- cating liquors for the current year.


ART. 10. At the request of Eben H. Marshall, to see if the town will vote , to reimburse him for the extra expense incurred by him in support of Sally Russell, or act in relation thereto.


ART. 11. At the request of E. H. Warren and others, to see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate money to be expended in necessary improvements in the cemetery at the centre of the town.


ART. 12. At the request of John N. Perry and others, to see if the town will vote to discontinue all the Jolin Farrar Road, so called, west of a bound on said highway, at the east side of land of John Dunn.

WARRANT.


ART. 13. At the request of Henry S. Perham and others, to see if the town will vote to appropriate money, to provide for the conveyauc e of pupils to the schools, as provided by the statutes.


ART. 14. At the request of Henry S. Perham and others, to see if the town will vote to appropriate money for a memorial tablet, to be placed in the vestibule of the town hall at the centre of the town, in memory of the Chelmsford soldiers, who lost their lives in the late war, or act in relation thereto.


ART. 15. At the request of N. B. Edwards and thirty-five others, to see if the town will instruct the Selectmen, to use all proper means to enforce the laws in relation to the sale of intoxicat- ing liquors, and act in relation thereto.


ART. 16. To sce if the town will vote to accept the extension of the town- way, called Warren Avenue, situate in Chelmsford Centre, as laid out by the Selectmen, or act in relation thereto.


And you are directed to serve this warrant, by posting up attested copies thereof at the post-offices in the centre of the town and South Chelmsford, at the post-offices at North Chelmsford, West Chelms- ford, and at the school-house at East Chelmsford, ten days at least before the time for holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of holding the meeting aforesaid.


Given under our hands this ninth day of March, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eighty-two.
