REPORT OF THE AUDITORS.
We have examined the account of the Treasurer for the year end- ing February 29, 1884, and find his receipts and payments properly entered and vouched, and that there is a balance of $974.55 cash in his hands.
We have also examined the bills and receipts in the hands of the Selectmen, and find them to vouch for orders amounting to $15,911.54, of which $15,889.41 has been paid by the Treasurer, and $22.13 is outstanding.

COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.
MIDDLESEX, SS.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Chelmsford, in said County, GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby required to notify the legal voters of said Chelmsford to meet at the Town Hall, at North Chelmsford, on Monday, the 17th day of March current, being the third Monday in said month, at nine o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles, viz. :
ARTICLE 1. To choose a moderator.
ART. 2. To hear reports of town officers and committees, and act thereon.
ART. 3. To determine the manner of collecting the taxes.
ART. 4. To determine the manner of repairing the highways, townways, and bridges.
ART. 5. To choose all necessary town officers.
ART. 6. To act in relation to the list of jurors prepared by the selectmen.
ART. 7. To raise and appropriate such sums of money as may be necessary to defray town charges for the ensuing year.
ART. 8. To see if the town will authorize the treasurer to borrow such sums of money as may be required for the payments of the demands upon him, in anticipation of the taxes of the ensuing year, and payable therefrom.
ART. 9. To see if the town will vote to grant licenses for the sale of intox- icating liquors for the current year.
ART. 10. To see if the town will vote to accept the gift of one hundred dollars in trust from Jeremiah Clark, as trustee under the will of Amos H. Silver, the income to be expended in care of said Silver lot in North Chelmsford cemetery.
ART. 11. To see if the town will vote to accept as a gift from Mrs. T. J. Adams, and heirs of Benjamin Adams, the vacant triangular piece of land situate in North Chelmsford in front of the resi- dence of Mrs. T. J. Adams, and between the roads leading to Lowell and Chelmsford Centre. Said land to be surrounded by a suitable fence and used for a common only.
ART. 12. To see if the town will vote to pay J. R. Fletcher his bill for ser- vices and expenses as secretary of the school committee for the school year 1876-1877.

WARRANT.
ART. 13. To see if the town will vote to purchase a fire-proof safe for use of the town clerk.
ART. 14. To see if the town will vote to appropriate money for a book-case for use in selectmen's room at the centre of the town.
ART. 15. At the request of Ziba Gay, Geo. C. Moore, E. D. Bearse, E. H. Shaw, and others, to see if the town will appropriate money for enlarging and repairing the Town House in North Chelms- ford, or act in relation thereto.
ART. 16. At the request of E. H. Warren and others, to see if the town will appoint a committee to dispose of its right or interest in the old Town Hall at the centre of the town.
ART. 17. To see if the town will vote to accept a town-way as laid out by the selectmen, beginning at the highway near the house of John Byam, and running easterly about one hundred and ten rods to the highway which leads past the house of Solomon Parkhurst. The land for said road is given by the owners.
ART. 18. To see if the town will vote to accept a town-way as laid out by the selectmen, beginning at the highway leading from Chelms- ford Centre to Lowell, near the house occupied by John Hooper, and running easterly about thirty-five rods to the Billerica road, so called, near the house of Wm. F. Carter. Said road is graded and land given.
And you are directed to serve this Warrant, by posting up at- tested copies thereof at the Postoffices in the centre of the town, South Chelmsford, North Chelmsford, West Chelmsford, and at the School-house at East Chelmsford, ten days at least before the time appointed for holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not, and make return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of holding the meeting aforesaid.
Given under our hands this sixth day of March, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eighty-four.
