Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting.


To John M. Peabody, Constable of the Town of Mid- dleton, in the County of Essex, Greeting:


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Middle- ton, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall in said Town, on MONDAY, the Fifth Day of March next, at one o'clock in the afternoon, then and there to act on the following articles :


ART. 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.


ART. 2. To choose all necessary town officers for the year ensuing.


ART. 3. To see how much money the town will raise to de- fray town charges the ensuing year, and make appropriations of the same.


ART. 4. To see how much money the town will raise to support schools the ensuing year.


ART. 5. To see how much money the town will raise to repair roads and bridges the ensuing year, and determine how the same shall be appropriated.


ART. 6. To act on the list of jurors, prepared and posted by the Selectmen.


ART. 7. To see what action the town will take concerning the cemetery.


ART. 8. To see what action the town will take in relation to letting the Town Hall.


ART. 9. To see if the town will authorize the Collector to use all means of collecting the taxes which the Town Treasurer when appointed Collector may use.


ART. 10. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer, under the direction of the Selectmen, to hire such sums of money' in anticipation of the taxes, as may be necessary, to meet current expenses.


ART. 11. To see if the town will vote to purchase hose, and a hose carriage, and provide a house for the same, provided the expense shall not exceed one thousand dollars.

ART. 12. In case the the town purchase hose, &c., to see if the town will choose suitable men to have the charge and superintendence of the same.


ART. 13. To see what measures the town will take for the protection of black bass in Middleton Pond.


And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting at- tested copies thereof, one at the Town Hall, and one at the Post Office in said town, seven days at least before the time for holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of meeting as aforesaid.
