FLINT PUBLIC LIBRARY.
Twelfth Annual Report of Trustees of Flint Public Library.
We would congratulate the inhabitants of Middleton in the prospect of having a new Library Building, which is now in process of erection.
The long felt need of more commodious quarters is about to be supplied by the thoughtful generosity of the late Hon. Charles L. Flint, a native of this town, and, while we enjoy the conveniences of our new rooms, may we hold in grateful remembrance the name of the donor, who was remarkable, not only for his scholarly attainments, but also for his devo- tion to the best interests of his fellowmen.
22
This building will be a noble monument to his memory.
No large addition could be made to our library in the last year, but we are hoping to make an addition to the number of books when we possess a greater shelving capacity.
We acknowledge with thanks the gift of two volumes of the History of Essex County from Miss Sophronia Fuller.
We hope that the people of Middleton will show their appreciation of the privileges afforded them, and avail them- selves of the benefits to be derived from the use of books as a means of education.
