These include births, marriages and deaths occurring elsewhere if the parents of the child born, a party to the marriage, or the deceased, were residents of Athol at the time of such event


Parents and attending physician are equally responsi- ble under the law for the reporting of a birth. A complete return is required within forty days, and for the con- venience of the parents a supplemental report form is sent them immediately upon receipt of a doctor's return of a birth in Athol. Prompt return of this report may pre- vent errors in recording the birth.

To either of the Constables of the Town of Athol, in the County of Worcester, Greeting:


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Athol, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet in their respective precincts in said Athol, at the following places designated and appointed as polling places, to wit:


Precinct One, at the Town Hall; Precinct Two, at Memorial Building, Monday, the fourth day of February, next, it being the first Monday in said month, at six- thirty o'clock in the forenoon, to bring in their votes to the Election Officers for Moderator, Treasurer, Highway Surveyor, Collector of Taxes, Tree Warden and three Constables, all for one year; Sinking Fund Commissioner for two years; Town Clerk, Selectman, Assessor, member Board of Public Welfare, Sewer Commissioner, Sinking Fund Commissioner, two members School Committee, Water Commissioner, one member Board of Health, two Library Trustees, Park Commissioner, one member Plan- ning Board, all for three years; one Cemetery Commis- sioner for five years.

And you are hereby directed to serve this warrant by posting up attested copies thereof, in each of the Post Offices in said town, seven days at least before the time for holding said meeting, and by publishing a like copy in one or more of the newspapers published in said town two days at least before the time for holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon, unto the Town Clerk, at the time and place of meeting as aforesaid.

TOWN WARRANT


COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS


Worcester, ss.


To either of the Constables of the Town of Athol, in the County of Worcester, Greeting:


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Athol, qualified to vote in elections and Town Affairs, to meet at the Memorial Building, in said Athol, on Monday, the Eighteenth Day of February, 1935, at seven o'clock in the evening, then and there to act on the following ar- ticles.


Article 1. To receive and act upon the annual reports of the officers of the Town.


Article 2. To choose all necessary Town Officers not already elected.


Article 3. To hear reports of Committees and act thereon.


Article 4. To see if the Town will choose one or more agents to prosecute and defend law-suits, compromise and adjust the same.

Article 5. To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to defray Town charges the ensuing year and make appropriations for the same.


Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the Financial Year beginning January 1, 1935, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.


Article 7. To determine the manner of collecting taxes for the ensuing year.


Article 8. To see if the Town will vote to oil the streets or a portion thereof the present year, raise and appropriate money therefor.


Article 9. To see if the Town will raise and appro- priate any sum of money for the observance of Memorial Day.


Article 10. To see if the Town will raise and appro- priate any sum of money for the repair and care of the clock on the Congregational church in Athol.


Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum not exceeding Five Thousand ($5,000.) for permanent roads for the ensuing year.


Article 12. To see if the Town will raise and appro- priate the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.) for the care of Sol- diers' graves or act in relation thereto.

Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to raise an 1 appropriate any sum for new sidewalks for the ensuing year.


Article 14. To see if the Town will appropriate any sum of money for the expenses of the Water Department for the ensuing year, or act in relation thereto.


Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate any sum of money for the maintenance of roads constructed under the Provisions of Chapter 90 G.L., it being understood that the State and County will each supply an amount equal to that appropriated by the Town.


Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate any sum of money for the construction and improvements of roads under the Provisions of Chapter 90 G.L., it being understood that the State and County will supply an amount equal to that appropriated by the Town.


Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the collection of garbage for the ensuing year.


Article 18. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the collection of rubbish for the ensuing year.


Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for expenses of the Dental Clinic for the ensuing year, or act in relation thereto.


Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the employment of a Dis- trict Nurse and the maintenance of an automobile for said nurse, or act in relation thereto.

Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of an auto- mobile for the use of the District Nurse.


Article 22 To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate Twelve Thousand Four Hundred Fifteen Dol- lars and Fifty Cents ($12,415.50) in compliance with the provisions of Chapter 111 of the General Laws, and Chap- ter 111, Acts of 1932, to meet the assessment levied against Athol by the County Commissioners, for the care of tuber- culosis patients in the County of Worcester during 1934. The amount asked for being divided in the following man- ner: Care and Maintenance $4,972.70; Interest on Bonds $2,842.80; Construction $4,600.00.


Article 23. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate any sum of money for E. R. A. or other Gov- ernment Projects, or act in relation thereto.


Article 24. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Twenty-Two Hundred Dollars ($2,200.) for Sewer Maintenance for the ensuing year, or act in relation thereto.


Article 25. To see if the Town will raise and appro- priate the sum of Thirty Dollars ($30.) for additional services and expenses of the Animal Inspector for the year 1934, or act in relation thereto.


Article 26. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate any sum of money for the purchase of a power sprayer for the use of the Tree Department in com- bating the gypsy moth, the same to be used by other de- partments of the Town requiring same as need exists or conditions require.

Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate any sum of money to purchase and in- stall a tractor for the Ladder Truck at Station 2, or act in relation thereto. Same to be done under the supervis- ion of the Chief of the Fire Department.
