There has been built one half mile of this macadam road, fifteen feet wide, at a cost of 56 1-2 cents per running foot.
This being my first attempt at stone road building, to- gether with the fact that it had to be built in September. when I had to pay higher wages to men and teams, made the cost higher.
I think, from the experience gained in building, that macadam road can be built in this town for 50 cents per running foot. As to the advantage of this kind of road over common roads, one has only to ride over it to see for them- selves.
