Edward Watson Shaw

100.00

Alfred Cole

200.00

Thomas Tillson 100.00

Voted that the dog fund be appropriated for the free public library account.

Voted that the vocational training appropriation be under the supervision of the School Committee.

The following report of the By-Laws Committee was read. It was voted not to adopt the recommendation.

Report of the By-Laws Committee

It has been brought decisively to the attention of this Committee that the Town should vote as to the advisability of carrying adequate fire and compensation insurance and we recommend that the Moderator appoint a committee of five to study the problem and report at the next annual town meeting.

After examining the by-laws of several towns of the size of Carver we find that at the present time the Carver By-Laws seem to cover our immediate needs.

Respectfully submitted, WILLIAM H. HARRIMAN, RODNEY GRIFFITH, THOMAS KENNEY, EBENEZER A. SHAW.

(June 23)

It was voted to accept Chapter 403 of the Acts of 1936

-18-

amending the General Laws, Ter. Ed., Chap. 152, Section 69, so as to provide that "the terms laborers, workmen and mechanics, as used in Section 69 to 75 inclusive, shall include other employees, except members of a police or fire force, regardless of the nature of their work, of the town, to such extent as the town acting respectively through the qualified voters in the town shall determine, as evidenced by a writing filed with the Department of Industrial Accidents."
