REPORT OF ENGINEERS.

During the year ending Feb. 1, 1888, there were three alarms of fire.

May 1, 1887, was caused by fire in Central House, owned by Lydia J. Perrigo, and occupied by M. G. Barr as a hotel. This fire probably originated from a kerosene lamp, which the occupant of the room had left burning while absent.

May 14, 1887, was caused by fire upon woodland near the resi- dence of Lucy and Mary Morse, and was extinguished before any damage had been done.

Nov. 12, 1887, was caused by the burning of the Almshouse, which was a total loss, and originated from defect in chimney.

The Engine Company has forty-four men, including officers.

The Hook and Ladder Company has twenty men, including officers.

During the year new hose has been purchased to replace that which had become worthless, and such other repairs made as the good of the service seemed to demand.

GEORGE A. MORSE, / Board BENNETT WILSON, of Engineers.
