Western Franklin Welfare District

The year 1954 has had a new medical plan put into effect with several changes, including prior authorizations and rigid fee schedules. Also a change in the statistical reporting has in- creased the clerical work of the office.

The case load and payments on Old Age Assistance have been lower this year but Disability Assistance and General Re- lief cases have increased to somewhat offset this. There has been a lot of time spent and work done on the rehabilitation of the Disability and General Relief cases.

The following is a statistical analysis of the District's ac- tivities:

Much has been accomplished in the District this year for bet- ter health.

Several children have had dental care which includes ex- tractions, fillings and x-rays. Transportation was provided by our nurse.

Vitamin capsules A and B were distributed at replacement cost, to the children. These capsules are a great help in the con- trol of colds and every child should make use of them.

The Well Child Clinic held this summer was well attended.

We wish to thank the various organizations for their generous gifts which enable us to further our effort to better the health of our children.

We also wish to thank Miss Dorothy Morehouse for her un- tiring efforts to make the district a success.
