The number of children in town, between the ages of 5 and 15, May Ist, ISSO, as ascertained by the assessors, was 135.

The committee have exchanged grammar and spelling books within the year, at a nominal expense of $33.48, although the actual expense is much less, for every scholar now has a new book in place of the old ones. We propose to arrange as soon as convenient, so that the school books may be found at all the stores in town.

The committee have paid out $23.39 from the appropriation of $50.00 made last year. We have left, $26.61 in the treasury. Seven hundred and fifty dollars should be appropriated for the support of schools the coming year.
