Report of the Overseers of the Poor


OF THE TOWN OF OAKHAM, FOR THE YEAR ENDING JANUARY 1, 1883. 1


During the past year the demands upon the town for support of those who are in want, have been less numerous than in former years, and there is every probability that during the coming year greater demands will be made upon the treasury of the town, than in the past.


The Overseers congratulate themselves that all the new applicants who have applied for assistance, have been denied, and their legal settle- ment proved elsewhere.


The past year five persons have received full, and four partial support or temporary relief ; total, nine.


And they further report that they have received of the town $954 14 which they account for as follows :
