Remarks

Work done in this town has been very satisfactory the past year. The superintendent has conformed to all rules and regu- lations of the department and has co-operated in a very willing manner. The policy of gravelling the primary and secondary roads in the center of the town has been adopted with the idea of oiling them the coming year. The Depot Road is now ready for an application of oil and recommend 1/2 gallon application.

TOWN OF OAKHAM

It is hoped that the town will continue the improved work on the Rutland and North Brookfield roads under Chapter 90 the coming year as all the ledge has been blasted out of this road this year.

Respectfully submitted, R. A. VESPER, Chapter 81 Assistant.

REPORT

OF THE

SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS

Holden, Mass., Jan. 1, 1927.

To the School Committee of Oakham:

This report is the twenty-seventh in the series since the formation of the present union, and the ninth by the present superintendent. I am including the full reports of the Music and Drawing teachers and the detailed outline of our Health work in the report of our School Nurse, in order that the public may know of the splendid service that is being rendered by these people. The tables of statistics are similar to those presented in other years and indicate the changes in the attendance and en- rollment. A new law requires the taking of the census during the first two weeks of October instead of in April as formerly.
