REMARKS.
The number of births, marriages and deaths entered upon record the past year is less than that of 1888, the greatest falling off being in the list of births.
The marriage of forty-three couples have been placed upon record the past year. Ten entries show that both of the contracting parties resided in town ; twenty-six that only one of couple belonged in town, and seven showing that neither party resided in Harwich. The following named clergymen and Justices of the Peace solemnized the several marriages as follows : Rev. Mr. Fletcher, 8; Rev. Mr. Snow, 7; Rev. Mr. Lothrop, 6; Rev. Mr. Dunbar, 3; Rev. Messrs Burney, Yates, Applebee, Miner, Edson, Plummer, McAllister, Dodge, Dawes, Halse, Goddard, McSwiney, Adams, Parker, Vincent, Fraser, 1 each ; J. H. Paine, Esq., 2; F. D. Rideout, Esq., 1.
