WARRANT FOR TOWN MEETING, MONDAY, MARCH 7, 1910.
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS. MIDDLESEX, SS.
To Garritt Barry, a Constable of the Town of Arlington, in said County. GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Arlington, who are qualified to vote in elections and Town affairs, to assemble in the Town Hall, on Monday, the seventh day of March, 1910, at 6.00 o'clock, A.M., then and there to act on the following articles, viz. :-
ARTICLE 1. To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting.
ART. 2. To elect by ballot the following Town officers :- A Town Clerk, for one year; a Town Treasurer, for one year; a Town Collector, for one year; an Auditor, for one year; three Selectmen, for one year; three members of the Board of Public Works, for one year; one Assessor, for three years; three members of the School Committee, for three years; one member of the Board of Trustees of the Pratt Fund, for five years; one member of the Board of Commissioners of the Sinking Fund, for three years; two Trustees of the Robbins Library, for three years; one Cemetery Commis- sioner, for three years; five Constables, for one year; one Park Commissioner, for three years; one member of the Board of Health, for three years; one Tree Warden, for one year. Also to choose or appoint all the other usual Town officers, in such manner as the Town may determine. Also, upon the same ballot, to vote "Yes" or "No" upon the question, "Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this Town"" For these purposes the polls will be opened as soon as possible after the organization of the meeting and kept open until five o'clock, P.M.
ART. 3. To hear and act on the reports of the Selectmen .and other Town officers and Committees heretofore appointed.
ART. 4. To make an appropriation for the Robbins Library for the ensuing year.

ART. 5. To make an appropriation for the Public Schools for the ensuing year, and determine in what manner the same shall be expended.
ART. 6. To determine in what manner the Town ways, high- ways and bridges shall be repaired the ensuing year.
ART. 7. To determine what sum of money the Town will raise by general tax, to defray Town expenses, interest, debt, and State Aid, and make an appropriation for the same.
ART. 8. To see if the Town will appoint the Selectmen agents of the Town, to institute and prosecute in favor of the Town and appear and defend suits and legal proceedings against or involv- ing the interests of the Town, with power to employ counsel therein and when necessary, in all other legal matters and business apper- taining to Town affairs during the year commencing March 1st, 1910.
ART. 9. To see what action the Town will take in relation to the appointment of a Committee of Twenty-one for the ensuing year.
ART. 10. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $275.00 for the proper observance of Memorial Day, the same to be ex- pended under the direction of Francis Gould Post 36, G. A. R.
ART. 11. To see if the Town will appropriate $7000, in accord- ance with the vote passed December 6, 1904, for water used for fire hydrants, street watering and public buildings for the ensuing year.
ART. 12. To see what action the Town will take in regard to the extension of water mains, make an appropriation for the same, and determine in what manner the money shall be raised.

ART. 19. To see if the Town will make an appropriation of $300, to continue the work of establishing a block system for the use of the Board of Assessors, the same to be expended under the direc- tion of the Assessors.

To see if the Town will make an additional appropriation to be expended from November 30, 1909, and for the twelve months next ensuing for suppressing the Gypsy and Browntail moths, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 381, Acts of 1905, and amendments thereto, and determine in what manner the money shall be raised.
ART. 22. To see if the Town will vote to enlarge the Crosby School House Lot by purchasing about 26,505 square feet of land on the easterly side of the present school lot and on the northerly side of Winter Street at an expense not exceeding $3700; make an appropriation therefor and determine the manner in which the same shall be raised and expended, or take any action thereon.

ART. 23. To see if the Town will erect additions to the Crosby School Building substantially in accordance with the plans sub- mitted by the committee appointed Nov. 23, 1909, make an appropriation for the purpose, and determine in what manner the same shall be raised and expended.

ART. 24. To see if the Town will construct a public sanitary in the vicinity of the Town Hall, and make an appropriation for the same, or take any action thereon.

Spy Pond in Arlington, and known as the Spy Pond Athletic Field, subject to the conditions therein set forth and according to which conditions said premises are to be kept and maintained by the Town "in proper and suitable condition and repair as an athletic field for the children of citizens of Arlington in the schools of Arlington to be used in accordance with rules and regulations made by and under the direction and control of the school com- mittee of Arlington or their successors," or take any action thereon.
ART. 36. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the purpose of keeping and maintaining the Spy Pond Athletic Field in proper and suitable condition and repair as an athletic field for the children of citizens of Arlington in the schools of Arlington.
ART. 37. To see if the Town will reimburse Eliza J. Pike and Willard A. Bullard, Trustee, for edgestone set on Bartlett Avenue previous to the acceptance of the street, make an appropriation therefor and determine in what manner the money shall be raised.

ART. 38. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $455.00, to reimburse the Trustees of the Soldiers' Monument Fund for money used in grading the Cemetery in 1908 and taken from the income of said fund, pending a reimbursement by the Town, in that year.

ART. 39. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for suppressing leaf-eating insects other than the Gypsy and Brown- tail moths or take any action thereon.
ART. 40. To appropriate and raise, by borrowing or otherwise, such sum or sums of money as may be necessary for all or any of the purposes mentioned in the foregoing articles.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Selectmen, on or before said day and hour of meeting.

ARLINGTON TOWN REPORT
Arlington, February 4, 1910.
Middlesex County.
By virtue of this Warrant I have notified and warned the inhabi- tants of the Town of Arlington, qualified as the constitution requires, to vote in elections and Town affairs, to meet at the time and place and for the purposes herein named, by causing a printed attested copy to be left at every dwelling house in the Town, and also by posting an attested copy on the doors of the Town Hall, seven days at least before said day of meeting.

In pursuance of the foregoing Warrant the inhabitants of the Town of Arlington, qualified to vote in elections and Town affairs, met in the Town Hall, in said Arlington, on Monday, the seventh day of March, in the year one thousand nine hundred and ten and were called to order at six (6) o'clock in the morning by the Town Clerk, who read articles one and two of the Warrant calling the meeting and the return of the constable who served the same upon the inhabitants.
By unanimous consent the reading of the remaining articles was postponed until the adjourned meeting.
Article 1 taken up. (Choice of Moderator.)
John G. Brackett received four votes and this number being all the votes cast, he was declared elected Moderator and was sworn to the faithful performance of his duties by the Town Clerk.
