Average cost to support cach person at Almshouse pr annum $80 96 4% 66 66

pr week $1 55359

The above average is drawn from the balance against the Almshouse, - If to that balance, the salary of Overseers ($65 00) one month's pay of D. B. Haskell (29 00) and two months' salary of J. P Conant, unpaid ($50 00) be added the sum total will be $1014 42. .

The Average cost for the year to support each person with that sum as a basis, is $94 36 20

Cost per week

$1 81393

Roads and Bridges.

The town voted the sum of $1,200 00 for repair of Roads · and Bridges, and also voted, that the town be divided into Four Districts, and that the Selectmen appoint a Surveyor for each one of them. The town was districted and surveyors appointed as per vote; but it does not appear from the checks, presented to the treasurer for payment, that a sep- arate account was kept, of the money expended in the sev- eral districts.

The whole amount expended for repair of Highways the past year was $1,439 97, of which sum upwards of $400 00 was expended upon Village Hill, so called.

There was also paid out of the treasury $782 44 for expense of building (including a deed of the Land 60 feet wide ) the new road near the residence of Joel Daniels,-making the sum of $2,222 41 expended the past year for the building and repair of Roads. This sum was paid upon the presentation of 112 bills, varying in their amounts from 67 cts. to $325, and it is thought best to omit the publication of them in detail.

The sum total above named, was reduced an amount of $200 00, by the generous gift to the town of that sum, by Mr. F. B. Ray, in aid of the new road.
