Deduct balance in favor of Treasury, 1,044 00
Town Debt
$16,717 00
It will be seen by comparing the figures this year and last, that the Town have diminished their debt some $500 00 ; and the Treas- ury is not liable for so many unpaid bills as there were last year. But it must also be recollected that the Treasurer has not half the available funds in his hands which he had last year. So that in re- ality the Town debt is not lessened more than two or three hundred dollars.
If some of the figures which make up the charges appear large, we flatter ourselves that the whole can be explained to the satisfac- tion of the town.
All of which is respectfully submitted.
NATHANIEL B. BUTLER, Selectinen GEORGE BROWN,
CHARLES PATCH, of Hamilton.
HAMILTON, March 1, 1870.
