WARRANT FOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETING.


ESSEX, SS.


To either of the Constables of the town of Hamilton, in said County, GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Hamilton, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the vestry in said town on Tuesday, the ninth day of March, 1880, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles : viz.


Ist. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.


2nd. To choose all necessary town officers for the year ensu- ing.


3d. To hear the annual report of the Selectmen, and to act thereon.


4th. To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to defray Town charges for the year ensuing, and make appropria- tions of the same.


5th. To determine the manner of repairing the highways, townways and bridges, the ensuing year and make appropria- tion for the same.


6th. To see if the town will authorize the Collector to use all means for collecting the taxes which a town Treasurer, when appointed Collector may, agreeably to Chap. 18 Sect. 73 of the General Statutes.

7th. To see if the town will accept the list of Jurors as pro- posed and posted by the Selectmen.


8th. To see at what time tax bills shall be issued and taxes made due, and what rate of interest shall be collected on taxes not paid when due, and also what discount shall be allowed on all taxes paid within a specified time.


9th. To hear the report of Committees of the last year.


Ioth. To choose all necessary Committees.


IIth. To see if the town will authorize their Treasurer to hire money under the direction of the Selectmen in anticipation of taxes.


12th. To see if the town will appropriate a sum of money, not to exceed seventy five dollars, for the purpose of a proper observance of Decoration day by the soldiers of the late Rebel- lion, said sum to be subject to their order.


13th. To see if the town will choose a committee to rebuild the Moulton Road according to the order of the County Com- missioners.


14th. To see if the town will re-district the highway in the west part of the town and make three highway districts instead of two as at present.


15th. To hear the report of the Selectmen on the condition of the Guideboards.


16th. To act on any other matters that may come legally before said meeting.


And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof-one at the public meeting house and one at some other public place in said town-seven days, at least, be- fore the time and place of meeting, as aforesaid.

Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of meeting, as aforesaid.
