Warrant for Annual Town Meeting.
Essex, ss.
To either of the Constables of the town of Hamilton, in said County, GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Hamilton, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the VESTRY, in said town, on TUESDAY, the 8th day of March, 1887, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following Artiles, viz :
ART. 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meet- ing.
ART. 2. To choose all necessary town officers for the year ensuing.
ART. 3. To hear the annual report of the Selectmen and act thereon.
ART. 4. Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxica- ting liquors in the town the year ensuing.
ART. 5. To raise such sums of money as may be necessa- ry to defray town charges the year ensuing, and make appro- priations for the same.
ART. 6. To determine the manner of repairing the Highways, town ways and bridges the year ensuing, and make appropriations for the same.
ART. 7. To see if the Town will raise a sum of money not exceeding three hundred dollars, for the purpose of re- pairing the road leading from the house of the late Wm. Whipple to Ipswich line, past the house of J. B. Stone, as per petition.
ART. 8. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer to hire money under the direction of the Selectmen, in an- ticipation of taxes.
ART. 9. To see if the Town will authorize their Collector to use all means of collecting the taxes, which a Town Treasurer when appointed a Collector may use, agreeably to Chap 18, Sec. 73, of the Public Statutes.
ART. 10. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer to renew Notes already due, or which may become due or to

hire money to replace or pay the same during the year.
ART. II. To see if the Town will accept the list af Jurors as proposed and posted by the Selectmen.
Art. 12. To see what time Tax bills shall be issued and Taxes become due, and what rate of interest shall be collected on taxes not paid when due. and what discount shall be allowed on Taxes paid within a specified time
ART. 13. To see if the town will appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of a proper observance of Decoration Day by the soldiers of the late rebellion.
ART. 14. To see what action the town will take in regard to purchasing a safe for the Selectmen's office.
ART. 15. To act on any other matter that may legally come before said meeting.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting at- tested copies thereof, one at the meeting house, and one at some other place in said town, seven days at least before the holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of said meeting.
Given under our hands this twenty-fifth day of February in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.
