Warrant for Annual Town Meeting.


Essex, ss.


To either of the Constables of the town of Hamilton, in said County, GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Hamilton, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the VESTRY in said town, on TUES- DAY, the thirteenth day of March, 1888, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following Articles, viz :


ART. I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meet- ing.


ART. 2. To choose all necessary town officers for the year ensuing.


ART. 3. To hear the annual report of the Selectmen and act thereon.


ART. 4. To hear the report of the Committee and act thereon.


ART. 5. Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxica - ting liquors in this town the year ensuing.


ART. 6. To see if the town will purchase a Road Machine for the repairing of the highways.


ART. 7. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of three hundred dollars to repair the road known as the Wenham Neck road, and build a sidewalk by said road from the main road down as far as houses are already built.


ART. 8. To see if the Town will vote to build and main- ยท tain a School house in the vicinity of Wenham Depot, and appropriate money for the same.


ART. 9. To see if the Town will lower the grade of the hill in front of Hamilton Park.

ART. IO. To see if the Town will appropriate a sum not exceeding three hundred dollars, for the purpose of repairing the road from Asbury Grove to the Topsfield line, also for some repairs on the road from Asbury Grove to Wenham line.


ART. II. To see if the Town will appropriate a sum not exceeding one hundred dollars, to repair the road from the main road to Caleb Dodge's house.


ART. 12. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of two hundred dollars for the purpose of repairing and building the sidewalk on both sides of the street, from D. D. Stone's corner to the house of J. F. Danes


ART. 13. To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to purchase a town clock, to be placed on the Congregational Church.


ART. 14 To see if the Town will take any action in regard to truant children.


ART. 15. To see what action the Town will take in regard to setting out trees around the new Cemetery.


ART: 16. To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to defray the town charges for the year ensuing and make approprations for the same.


ART. 17. To determine the manner of repairing the high- wavs, town ways, and bridges, for the year ensuing and make appropriation for the same.


ART. 18. To see if the Town will authorized the Treasurer to hire money under the direction of the Selectmen, in an- ticipation of taxes.


ART. 19. To see if the Town will authorize their Col lector, to use all means of collecting the taxes which a Town Treasurer, when, appointed a Collector, may use agreeably to Chap. 18 Sec. 73 of the Public Statutes.


ART. 20. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer to renew Notes already due, or may become due, or to hire money to replace or pay the same.


ART. 21. To see at what time tax bills shall be issued, and taxes become due and what rate of interest shall be charged on taxes not paid when due, and also what discount shall be allowed on all taxes paid within a specified time.

ART. 22. To see if the Town will accept the List of Jurors as proposed by the Selectmen.


ART. 23. To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of a proper observance of Decoration Day by the Soldiers of the late Rebellion.


ART 24. To act on any other matters that may legally come before said meeting.


And you are now directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof, one at the meeting house and one at some other public place in said town seven days at least be- fore the time of holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of said meeting.
