Warrant for Annual Town Meeting.
Essex, ss.
To either of the Constables of the town of Hamilton, in said GREETING : County,
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Hamilton, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the VESTRY in said town, on TUESDAY, the twelfth day of March, 1889, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following Articles, viz :
ART. I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meet- ing.
ART. 2. To choose all necessary town officers for the year ensuing.
ART. 3. To hear the annual report of the Selectmen and act thereon.
ART. 4. To hear the report of Committees and act thereon.

ART. 5. Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxi cating liquors in this town the year ensuing.
ART. 6. To see if the town will purchase a road machine for the repair of the highways.
ART. 7. To see if the town will appropriate a sum not exceeding fifty dollars, ($50 00) on the road from the house of Daniel D. Stone, to the Hamilton Depot, said money to be expended in making the road bed wider, and repairing the sidewalk on the east side of said road.
ART. 8. To see if the town will appropriate a sum of money not exceeding two hundred dollars ($200) for the purpose of repairing the sidewalk between the house of Joseph Dane to Tuttle's Corner, as petitioned for by F. G. Wentworth and others.
ART. y. To see if the town will appropriate fifty dollars, to repair Gale avenue.
ART. 10. To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to petition the Legislature to repeal the law in regard to Truant School.
ART. [I. To raise such sums of money as may be nec- essary to defray the town charges for year ensuing.
ART. 12. To determine the manner of repairing the highways, town ways and bridges for the year ensuing and make appropriations for the same.
ART. 13. To see if the town will authorize their Treas- urer to hire money under the direction of the Selectmen, in anticipation of taxes.

ART. 14. To see if the town will authorize their Collec- tor to use all means of collecting the taxes which a Town Treasurer, when appointed a Collector, may use agreeably to Chap. 18, Sect. 73, of the Public Statutes.
ART. 15. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer to renew notes already due or may become due, or hire money to replace or pay the same.
ART. 16. To see at what time Tax bills' shall be issued, and taxes become due, and what rate of interest shall be charged on taxes not paid when due, and also what discount shall be allowed on all taxes paid within a specified time.
ART. 17 To see if the town will accept the list of jurors as proposed by the Selectmen and posted.
ART. 18. To see if the town will appropriate a sum of money for the proper observance of Decoration Day by the Soldiers of the late Rebellion.
ART. 19. To see what action the town will take towards building a Town Hall as petitioned for by Emery Lawrence and others.
ART. 20. To see what action the town will take in regard to extinguishing of fires within the limits of the town.
ART. 21. To see what action the town will take in regard to purchasing a new Hearse.
ART. 22. To see if the town will appropriate a sum not to exceed two hundred dollars, for the purpose of grading and draining the square near the Wenham and Hamilton R. R. Station, as petitioned for by C. A. Hill and others.

ART. 23. To act on any other matters that may legally come before said meeting.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof, one at the Meeting House and one at some other public place in said town, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of said meeting.
