REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY.
To the Inhabitants of the Town of Hamilton :
When the new rooms of the Public Library in the Town Hall Building were opened the first of March, a new interest in the Library was immediately manifested, and the number of regular subscribers considerably increased. Young and old have shown their appreciation of the reading room by giving it a liberal patronage. Books of reference have been placed on the reading room shelves and several of the leading weekly and monthly periodicals provided for the general public, including Harper's Monthly, Harper's Weekly, The Century, Scribner's, The Review of Reviews, The New England Magazine, The Youth's Companion, Outing, and St. Nicholas. These maga- zines have also had a large circulation in the community. Johnson's Universal Cyclopædia. in eight octavo volumes, bound in half morocco, has been added recently to the list of reference books. and will fill a long felt want. It may be of great service to the teachers and pupils of the public schools as well as to the general reader.
