Our present library space in the church is inadequate for housing many more volumes. Your library committee mentioned the fact to some friends of Westhampton. Mr. E. C. Bridgman of New York, whose father was first to take
24
action in starting our Reunion Library at the One Hun- dredth Anniversary of the settlement of the town, has prom- ised $500 towards a new building. Mr. John Goddard Clark of San Francisco, who lived in town for six years of his childhood, has sent a check for $150. It is the hope of your library committee that this fund will grow, by bequests and gifts, until a sum is raised large enough to build and maintain a Memorial Library.
