REPORT OF THE School Committee
To the Citizens of Westhampton :
The school committee held a regular meeting, at the schoolhouse, each month during the year, with the exception of the month of July; and, also two special meetings.
On April 29, 1949, we attended the annual meeting of the joint school committee, held at Easthampton.
In June, Mr. Gordon P. Rowe, Jr. resigned his position as principal to accept a teaching position with the Dedham, Mass. school system. Mr. Frederick K. Fedor, of East- hampton, was chosen as his successor. Mr. Fedor is a graduate of American International College, Springfield, Mass., and furthered his study towards his Master's Degree, at Spring- field College, during the summer of 1949.
We awarded a contract for the painting of the exterior of the schoolhouse, and this, plus minor repairs to the roof, was done during the summer recess.
More details of the activities of the school may be found in the following reports which deal with school affairs.
