I want you to know the real value of a used Packard Car -as I know it, its the best buy in the motor business.

ALVAN T. FULLER

You will, we know, be interested in a brief outline of our trading policy, which puts us in a position at this time to offer for your consid- eration a used Packard car which is as good as new. We number among our patrons the wealthiest people in New England, people who, rather than lose the use of their car for five weeks, which is the time it takes to thoroughly overhaul and paint a car, would prefer to buy a new one, turning in the used car in exchange. These people are getting more pleasure out of motoring than they have ever received for a given amount in any other direction, with the result that their expenditure is made regardless.

Some of these cars are not used more than six or seven thousand miles a year; in one or two instances that we know of, not more than four thousand, and invariably the customer has stated upon turning it in that the car runs as sweetly as when new.

However, regardless of this condition, the machine is entirely taken down, parts inspected, every worn part replaced, every adjustment made perfect in our Mechanical Department. The body is taken off the chassis and sent through the woodworking department, the upholstery in- spected and repaired and the car is then repaint- ed. Our renovation of this car is so thorough that the springs are taken apart, cleaned and graphited.

We would be very glad of an opportunity of taking you through our Service Depot, where you can see our cars going through the works. You are not only invited, but cordially urged to visit our works. Every department is open and we are absolutely sure that it would inspire confidence if you would but go through the factory and see how thoroughly and in detail all of this work is donc.

We have a number of instances where custom- ers have done this and have changed their order from a new to a second hand car, thereby taking advantage of the reduced price.

Practically the same guarantee covers the used car as the new one, and in all important speci- fications it is the same. A number of the 1910 improvements have been incorporated in the 1909.

(At our Opening Washington's Birthday Mr. F. C. Graves, who is in charge of our used car department in the Motor Mart, remarked to Mr. Fuller that he thought there should be a sign on the used cars in our Service Depot Salesroom, for the reason that a customer could not tell whether this particular car referred to was a '10 or a '09. Mr. Graves' impressions were especially interesting in view of the fact that he had been selling Packard cars for a great many years, and that the car referred to was neither a '09 nor a '10, but a 190S model.)

We are very proud of our work in making a Packard used car the finest value on earth. Our confidence in the value of the Packard car could perhaps be best summed up by stating that we have taken Packard cars in trade of any model we have ever sold and without limit at the values determined on at the Packard conference.

When in addition to this we have put up a $300,000 Service Building in which to overhaul and renovate these cars, perhaps you can better understand our confidence in the used car situa- tion and our belief that our statement that Packard used cars are the best buy in the motor business is an absolutely true onc.

Our Service Depot is larger than SO per cent. of the automobile factories in the United States, has over 122,000 square feet of floor space and employs about 300 men.
