Second alarm to be given by strik- ing three blows on all bells, followed by one or more rounds of box num- ber


Third alarm to be given by striking five blows on all bells followed by box number

Calls for assistance from Boston by striking ten blows, followed by box number on all bells


The recall signal is to be given by striking two blows on all bells, except when a second box has been given be- fore the recall signal of the first box has been sounded, then the recall will be two blows followed by the box number


After first alarm has been given, and before the recall is sounded, should an alarm be given from an adjacent box to the first box, the de- partment will consider the second box the same as a second alarm and all companies who would respond to a second alarm from the first box will respond to the second box
