The Averill Farm Cemetery.
Paul Averill, the first of the Averill family to settle in North Andover, Mass., was born in Middleton, Mass., Sept. 27,1742, the son of Paul and Zurviah (Howe) Averill. He purchased in 1769 a farm in the Kimball district of North Andover from Joseph Town who in turn had received it by deed from his father, Nathan Town. This T'arm is located on Forest St., and is still owned and occupied by one of his descendants, Mrs. Walter Paul.
On March 10, 1772, Paul Averill married Deborah Foster and their son John inherited the farm from his father. Both father and son were very large men and noted for their great strength. It is said Paul Averill measured over six feet in height and was double jointed in every joint. He was a very religious man and never failed to attend church service. He was a soldier in the Revolution going from Andover as a member of Capt. Nathaniel Lovejoy's Co. that marched April 19, 1775 from Andover to Cambridge by way of Billerica.
At his death which occurred in 1804, Paul Averill was buried in the First Cemetery of Andover which is located on Academy Road in what is now North Andover. Just where his grave is, is not definitely known. Sometime after burial, the grave was disturbed. This so upset his widow that she lost her reason. Her son, John, then said that thereafter the Averills would be buried on their own farm. A place was chosen in the field opposite the house. This later proved unsatisfactory and a new spot was chosen on the high knoll beside the house. Here we find three generations of Averills sleeping in a remarkably well kept family cemetery.

The Moses Kimball Farm Cemetery.
Just beyond the Paul Averill farm on Forest St., in the Kimball district of North Andover, Mass., is located the farm which was form- erly owned by Mr. Moses Kimball, a Revolutionary soldier, who marched from Andover to Cambridge, April 19, 1775, as a member of Capt. Josh- ua Holt's company. This farm is now owned by Mr. Leo Albers of Law- rence, Mass., who occupies it during the summer months.
We find on this farm another family cemetery which contains only two real gravestones. These stones mark the graves of Moses Kimball's grand daughter and her husband. There are many other graves but they are marked only with field stones. It is said that Moses Kimball, the Revolutionary soldier, is buried here and as he lived and died on this farm at over ninety years of age in 1822, it is no doubt very true. We do not find a record of his grand daughter's death or her husband's death in the Andover Vital Records published in 1912.
A few years more and this cemetery as far as outward appearance shows will fail to exist.

The Cornelius Gould Farm Cemetery, Andover, Mass.
The Cornelius Gould Farm Cemetery is a small cemetery contain- ing only three gravestones and a few unmarked graves. The death records obtained from these stones are not on record in the town books of Andover, Mass., or the Vital Records of Andover, Mass., published in 1912.
This farm is located on Gould 3t., in the Scotland district of Andover. It was originally owned by Joel Jenkins, a Revolutionary soådier, having been given to him by his father, Samuel Jenkins, the first of the name to settle in Andover. Joel Jenkins, later, gave it to his daughter Lydia, the wife of Cornelius Gould. At the present time it is owned by Mr .. T.A.Thompson of Boston and Andover, Mass., who purchased it in 1928 from Mr. Milo Gould, a grandson of Cornelius Gould.
Cornelius Gould was born in Topsfield, Mass., Feb. 1, 1767 ,the son of Major Joseph Gould, a soldier in the Revolution from Topsfield, and his wife, Elizabeth Emerson. Cornelius settled in Boxford, Mass. and by his first wife, Phebe P. Gould had the following six children all born there :-

His first wife died in 1807 and he married second Lydia Jenkins of Andover, Mass. To them at Boxford were born the following child- ren: -
1. Barzillai b. Dec. 14, 1814 married Ruth Averill of Middleton Apr. 2, 1835 2. Emerson b. Jan. 14, 1818 m. Harriet Batchelder of Reading May 30, 1839. He is buried in this cemetery. 3. Henry Augustus b. Mar. 4, 1816 m. Sarah Batchelder March 30, 1837.
When this son, Henry Augustus, was four years old the Goulds removed to Andover, Mass., and settled on the farm of her father, Joel Jenkins. Henry Augustus Gould inherited this farm from his father, Cornelius Gould. He later bequeathed it to his son Milo Gould.
On April 22, 1904, the bounds between Andover and North Reading were established. Up until that time the entire farm was reckoned as being entirely within the town of Andover. At that time the boundary line was run through the farm placing a small portion of it in North Reading. This cemetery is at the present time, just over the line in North Reading.
The inscriptions follow.
