For Trade Lists outside of New England
The use of this book may suggest uses for lists in other States. There are, however, few State Directories issued outside of New England. To get such information one must have access to the very latest city and town directories. A few lines of business are fairly well covered by trade directories, but as these are of necessity compiled in large part from the local directories of the year before, and as there are sometimes as many as seventy-three per cent changes in a city directory in a single year, it is evident that they can hardly contain the latest changes and new names.
To perform this service properly we maintain a very complete Library, containing over five hundred current local directories, and are pre- pared to compile special lists as desired for almost any locality at reasonable rates.
We do not keep lists on hand, waiting for a customer, as is done by many "addressing agencies," who issue quite complete price lists of carbon copies left over from special orders. We are sometimes called upon to correct such lists, which give evidence of having been prepared several years before. There is such a large variation in the requirements for special lists, that to hold copies of one order in expectation of another call for the same list, must result in most cases in that list becoming old before sold. The latest information is worth all it costs, and usually it does not cost more than old lists.
We will be glad to make estimates on any work of this nature. 1

Note :- We publish directories for thirty-five cities and towns in New England and New York State, and will be pleased to quote prices on these, or directories issued by any other publishers.
