We have the past year purchased of the heirs of Roswell Billings and David Billings, seven and one- half acres of land on the west side of Running Gutter Brook at a cost of $375, and have made a contract for the purchase of water pipe to relay the main on the Straits Road as far as the home of Dennis Reagan.
We are often asked how we know that the purity of the water is maintained. Each month two large bottles of the water are sent to the State Board of Health at Boston and their report is sent to the Com- missioners.
