THE HUNDRED DAYS' CAMPAIGN.
Boston in April, 1864. It was organized, May 6th, by the choice of Henry W. Wilson as Captain, Edmund C. Colman as First Lieutenant, and Richard J. Fennelly as Second Lieutenant. With the approbation of His Excel- lency, Gov. Andrew, it adopted the name of the Andrew Light Infantry, and as such, on the evening of Wednes- day, the 7th of July, the evening of the day on which orders were promulgated, voted to respond to the call of the governor for 100 days' troops, which action was reported at head-quarters the day following, and orders were issued for the company to be recruited to the max- imum number. On Saturday, July 10th, the commander reported the company full, and ready for duty. On Wednesday, he received orders to go to camp at Read- ville, which was done the day following.

contained one hundred and twenty-five names, from which the company was selected. It reported at the State House the 12th, went into camp the 14th, and was mustered in the 16th. Without making any invidious distinction, this company can be characterized as compe- tent to occupy a position in any regiment, however well- drilled, and prompt in the discharge of the duty required of soldiers.
