THE KEITH FAMILY.


1 Rev. JAMES KEITHI came from Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1662, at the age of 18. He was the first ordained minister in Bridgewater, having been ordained in Feb. 1664. He married Susanna, daughter of Deacon Samuel Edson. Children : -

The father died at West Bridgewater, July 23, 1719, aged 76, after a pastorate of 56 years. From this family has sprung a large and re- spectable list of descendants, which are scattered over every portion of the country. It is said that in 1810 there were 200 bearing the name of Keith in the town of Bridgewater, which included what is now North, East, West, and South Bridgewater.
