Sealed proposals were received and taken under advisement on September 25th for piling, foundation, structural steel, artificial stone, Quincy granite and steel sash.


September 30th the steam digger was excavating the grading and removal of trees in progress.


The pile drivers arrived on October 13th and the work com- pleted November 12th, on November 13th started marking and placing forms for footings for foundation and concrete work started November 25th.


Foundations nearly completed December 31st.


The Highway Department installed a surface drain from East Squantum street to Hancock street and gravel fill on the lower level opposite the East Squantum street entrance.

For financial statment see Auditor's report.


Construction work has been carried on through the whole sea- son, and the accompanying list shows where the work has been done.


During the year 4.072 miles of main sewers have been built, making a total of 103.39 miles built in the city to date.


In 1924 the number of house connections showed a great increase, but during this season 1925 the increase has been greater.


We have made in 1925, 749 connections (totalling 34,074.40 feet or 6.45 miles), with the main sewers connecting 754 buildings as follows:
