The American Friends Service Committee was founded In 1917. It undertook extensive relief and reconstruction work In Europe during and after the first world war. Since then it has carried into action through relief and many other programs, Friends' beilef that men of all nationalities and colors and reilgious persuasion can live peacefully together. The Committee now works in 12 countries besides the United States. Its actl- vities draw in thousands, as Individuals, In large and small groups, at local, national and international levels.
