General Instructions.
Signs over each box tell where keys are kept. Every indi- vidual should acquaint himself with the location of the nearest box to his residence, so that in case of fire valuable moments may be saved. On giving the alarm remain if possible at the box to inform the department of the exact location of the fire. Avoid giving alarms for fire seen at a distance. No persons will give more than one alarm for the same fire without an order from the chief or his assistants.
