Permission is hereby given by the undersigned, Selectmen of the said Town of Chelmsford (or a majority thereof) being duly authoriz ed thereto as follows, to wit: to the Lowell Ice Company, a corpo- ration dul; established under the Laws of said Commonwealth, to it- self construct (or cause to be constructed) by its servants & a- gents, a Railroad Track of the usual width, across what is known as the "PondeRoad", near the village of South Chelmsford and leading from the Acton road to the Littleton road; & if necessary & conven- iont for said Company, to raise the grade of said Road above its presont grade, where said Track crosses said Road to a highth not exceeding eighteen inches above its present level, with slopes on said road on both sides of said Track, when laid, so as to be safe & convenient for public travel
