Memofiam

YOUR COMMITTEE cannot close their report. without ex- pressing their sense of obligation for help in the work of the year to their late Secretary, Mr. EPHRAIM ADAMS, JR., whose untimely death last summer is felt by us and by the whole town as a loss. He was a man of keen insight, sound judgment, and progressive spirit. He had tact and energy, caution and daring. His interest in educational matters amounted almost to enthusiasm. One of the best tributes which the town can pay to his memory is to carry out in its school affairs that liberal policy of which he was well known to be the strenuous advocate.

Respectfully submitted,

JOHN WHITEHILL, EBENEZER CARPENTER, WILLIAM FITZ, WILLIAM H. STARR, 0. C. TURNER, WILLIAM B. HEATH,

School Committee.
