GREETING:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn legal voters of the Town of Attleborough to meet on Monday, March 4, 1912, at 6 o'clock in the forenoon, in the following places : Precinct S-South Attleboro Hose House ; Pre- cinct E-Union Street Hose House; Precinct W-Ar- mory Hall then and there to choose by ballot: A Town Clerk, a Town Treasurer, three Selectmen, one Assessor of Taxes for three years, one Collector of Taxes, one Overseer of the Poor for three years, one Water Commissioner for three years, three Auditors, one Sinking Fund Commissioner for three years, three mem- bers of the School Committee for three years each, one member of the Board of Health for three years, one mem- ber of the Board of Health for one year, three Trustees of the Public Library for three years each one Library Trustee for two years, one Chief Engineer of the Fire Department, two Assistant Engineers of the Fire De- partment, one Tree Warden, one Park Commissioner for three years, nine Constables; and also upon the same ballot to vote "Yes" or "No" upon the question : "Shall license be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this town for the ensuing year?" and to meet in Armory Hall on Monday evening. March II, at 7:30 o'clock, then and there to act upon the following articles, to wit :

Article I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting. .
Art. 2. To choose all necessary Town officers, not elected by ballot.
Art. 3. To consider and act upon the reports of the Selectmen, Town Treasurer and other Town officers.
Art. 4. To see what disposition the' Town will make of the Dog Fund.
Art. 5. To choose any committee, hear the report of any committee and to act thereon; or do anything in re- lation thereto.
Art. 6. To determine the compensation of Town offi- cers, clerical assistance to Town officers, and laborers on the highways.
Art. 7. To see what appropriation the Town will make for the support of paupers.
Art. 8. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Overseers of the Poor to contract with physicians to at- tend the poor for the ensuing year.
Art. 9. To see what sum the Town will appropriate for the relief of indigent soldiers and sailors and their families, and to act anything thereon.
Art. 10. To see what sum the Town will appropriate to be expended by W. A. Streeter Post, G. A. R., in the work of decorating graves of soldiers and sailors of the Republic.
Art. II. To see what action the Town will take towards providing suitable quarters for W. A. Streeter Post. G. A. R., and what appropriation shall be made for the same.

Art. 12. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $3,025.67 for overdrafts in the departments for 191I.
Art. 13. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $50 for the use of Major H. A. Clark Camp, Spanish War Veterans, to be devoted to the decoration of graves of soldiers and sailors who served in the United States Army and Navy during the war with Spain, or do anything in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 14. To see what sum the Town will appropriate for the Current and Incidental expenses for the ensuing year.
Art. 15. To see if the Town will vote to offer a reward for arrest and conviction of any person or persons setting wood fires intentionally or carelessly.
Art. 16. To determine the number of patrolmen the Town will employ for the ensuing year, their salary, and make an appropriation in addition to the court fines, for the use of the Police Department, as recommended by the Selectmen.
Art. 17. To see what appropriation the Town will make for the support of the Public Library.
Art. 18. To see what appropriation the Town will make for the current and incidental expenses of the Fire Department for the ensuing year.

Art. 20. To see if the Town will vote to establish any additional fire alarm boxes, to extend the fire alarm system, and make an appropriation therefor.
Art. 21. To see if the Town will vote to purchase 1,000 feet of hose for the Fire Department, and make an appropriation therefor.
Art. 22. To see if the Town will vote to purchase a motor-driven combination chemical and hose truck, as recommended by the Fire Engineers, and make an ap- propriation therefor.
Art. 23. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Board of Fire Engineers to appoint one or more addi- tional permanent men, and make an appropriation there- for.
Art. 24. To see if the Town will vote to purchase a motor-driven vehicle for use of the Chief of the Fire De- partment, and make an appropriation therefor.
Art. 25. To see what appropriation the Town will make, together with the receipts of the Department and the Dog Fund, for educational purposes, to include educa- tional accounts, incidentals and repairs, text-books and supplies, transportation, benevolence, evening schools, summer schools and school physician.
Art. 26. To see if the Town will vote to build a new High School building on the lot purchased last year, and make an appropriation therefor, or do anything in rela- tion thereto.
Art. 27. To see if the Town will vote to build a school building on the Thacher street lot, purchased last year, and make an appropriation therefor, or do anything in relation thereto.

Art. 28. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $30 per year for each hydrant in use, and also pay for water used in public buildings and for other public pur- poses, at the same rates as other water takers.
Art. 29. To see what sum the Town will appropriate, together with the revenue of the Water Department for the current year, for the maintenance of the Water De- partment, for the annual contribution to the Sinking Fund, and for the payment of serial bonds in 1912, as recommended by the Water Commissioners.
Art. 30. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $5,000 to be used in cleaning Orr's pond and taking out the mud and other refuse.
Art. 31. To see if the Town will vote to amend that part of Section 1 of the Water Ordinances, relating to the appointments made by the Commissioners, omitting the words "who shall also be," so that it will read "The Commissioners may appoint and remove at their dis- cretion a clerk, a water registrar, a superintendent, and such employes or agents as they may deem necessary, and may prescribe their duties."
Art. 32. To see what pipe the Town will authorize the Water Commissioners to lay during the ensuing year and under what terms and conditions.
Art. 33. To see if the Town will vote to refund money, with interest, which has been deposited in trust with the Water Department from time to time for the purpose of protecting said department against possible loss on guar- antee filed for the extension of pipes on Washington street, said extension now having become profitable to the town, or do anything in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.

Art. 34. To see what appropriation the Town will make for lighting the public streets.
Art. 35. To see what sum the Town will appropriate for insurance of Town buildings, or do anything in rela- tion thereto.
Art. 36. To determine when taxes become due and payable and what rate of interest the Town will charge on taxes remaining unpaid.
Art. 37. To see if the Town will authorize the Collec- tor of Taxes to use all means of collecting taxes which a Town Treasurer may use when appointed a collector.
Art. 38. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow during the municipal year, beginning Jan. Ist, 1912, in anticipation of the collection of taxes of said year, such sums of money as may be necessary for the current expenses of the Town, but not exceeding the total tax levy of said year, giving the notes of the Town therefor, payable within one year from date thereof. All debts incurred under authority of this vote shall be paid from the taxes of the present municipal year.
Art. 39. To see what debts the Town will vote to incur under the provisions of Chapter 27 of the Revised Laws.
Art. 40. To see what appropriation the Town will make for curbing sidewalks under the Betterment Act.
Art. 41. To see if the Town will make an appropri- ation for curbing and concreting the sidewalk in front of the Bliss school lot on Park street.

Art. 42. To see what appropriation the Town will make for the construction of new concrete walks under the Betterment Act.
Art. 43. To see what appropriation the town will make for highways and bridges.

Art. 46. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum sufficient to cover the Thacher Brook Drain from Park street to Dunham street, the work to be of perma- nent construction, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 47. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $500 for the purpose of widening County street from Thacher to Tiffany streets, in accordance with the accepted layout, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 48. To see what sum the Town will appropriate for the current and incidental expenses of the Board of Health.
Art. 49. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $1,000 to be used at Capron Park, in addition to the regular appropriation of $2,000, as recommended by the Park Commissioners.
Art. 50. To see what sum the Town will vote to ap- propriate to be expended on Finberg Playground at the corner of Bishop and Park streets, as recommended by the Selectmen.

Art. 51. To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of Section 37, Chapter 19, of the Revised Laws, relative to extending the provisions of the Civil Service Law to the Police and Fire forces of the town.
Section 37, Chapter 19. In a Town which by ,a vote of the majority of the voters voting thereon at an annual or special town meeting accepts the pro- visions of this section or has accepted the corres- ponding provisions of earlier laws, the provisions of this chapter and the rules made under the author- ity thereof which relate to the police and fire forces of cities except Boston shall apply to all members of the regular or permanent police and fire forces, or to the call fire force, or to either of said forces of a town. Such vote may limit the application of the provisions of this chapter and of the rules made thereunder either to the police force or to the fire force of such town, or it may extend such applica- tion to both of said forces. Upon such vote of ac- ceptance, each member of the force or forces in- cluded therein and within the classified Civil Ser- vice shall continue to hold his office until death. resignation or removal. He shall not be removed except for cause shown after a full hearing before the board or officer of the Town having power to make removals, and such member shall have the right to be present at such hearing and to be repre- sented by counsel.
Art. 52. To see if the Town will vote to change the name of that part of Attleboro, situated west of Wash- ington street from the Rhode Island line to Mendon Road, thence westerly along Mendon road, now desig- nated as St. Jean Plat, so that it may be known here- after as Sibleyville, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 53. To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of Chapter 191, Acts of 1907, relative to the establishment of a board of surveys in towns.

Art. 54. To see if the Town will vote to change the names of Wigwam, Henry and Eden streets, so that they may be known hereafter as Garden street, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 55. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a town way the layout of Twelfth street, as made by the Selectmen, from County street to Robert street, and make an appropriation therefor or do any- thing in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 56. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Robert street, as made by the Selectmen, from Olive street to Thirteenth street, and make an appropriation therefor, or do any- thing in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 57. To see if the Town will vote to accept and al- low as Town ways the layout of Wigwam and Henry streets, as made by the Selectmen, and make an appro- priation therefor or do anything in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 58. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Atwood street, as made by the Selectmen, and make an appropriation therefor or do anything in relation thereto.
Art. 59. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Dexter street, as made by the Selectmen, and make an appropriation therefor, or do anything in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 60. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Maple street, as made by the Selectmen, from its junction with Brook street to Park street, and make an appropriation there-

Art. 62. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of State street, as made by the Selectmen, from John street to Milk street, and make an appropriation therefor, or do anything in rela- tion thereto, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 63. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Dorchester avenue, as made by the Selectmen, from Pleasant street to the resi- dence of William Paille, and make an appropriation therefor or do anything in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 64. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Jefferson street, as made by the Selectmen, from Fourth street to Fifth street, and make an appropriation therefor, or do any- thing in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.

Art. 68. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Newport avenue, as made by the Selectmen, from West street to the corner of Highland avenue, and make an appropriation therefor, or do anything in relation thereto.
Art. 69. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Highland avenue, as . made by the Selectmen, from the corner of Newport ave- nue to Washington street, and make an appropriation therefor, or do anything in relation thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of that section of street extending from Park street to Park street, as made by the Selectmen, near the residence of Frank Cummings, and make an appropriation therefor, or do anything in re- lation thereto, agreeable to a petition.

Art. 73. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a Town way the layout of Manchester street, as made by the Selectmen, from Ellis to Henry and Eden streets, and make an appropriation therefor, or do any- thing in relation thereto, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 74. To see whether the Town will vote to issue additional bonds to an amount not exceeding $150,000, under the provisions of Chapter 157 of the Acts of the General Court of the year 1909 and for the purposes there- in stated, to be denominated "Attleborough Sewerage Loan, Act of 1909," and to determine the dating, denomi- nation and other particulars of said bonds.
Art. 75. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $500 for the purpose of completing Brownell street, and putting it in a passable condition, in accord- ance with the accepted layout, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 76. To see if the Town will vote to purchase that strip of land between Park street and the proposed new layout of Park street near the junction of Park and Emory streets, the same to be used for public purposes, and make an appropriation therefor, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 77. To see if the Town will vote to pay for out- side teams, working on the highway, at the rate of $5 per double team for nine hours, and $3.50 per single team for nine hours, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 78. To see if the Town will vote to install elec- tric lights on Mendon road, Leedham street, Pond street and Brown street ; one light at the corner of Mendon road and Robinson avenue; one between Robinson avenue and Leedham street; one at the corner of Leedham street and Mendon road; one at the corner of Leedham street and Pond street; one at the corner of Leedham street and Brown street ; one on Pond street and one on

Brown street at a suitable distance from the corner of Brown and Leedham streets, and make an appropriation therefor, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 79. To see what sum the Town will vote to ap- propriate for the observance of Fourth of July.
Art. 80. To see if the Town will vote to establish and maintain a fire alarm box at the corner of Bank and Holden streets, and make an appropriation therefor, agreeable to a petition.
Art. 81. To see if the Town will rescind its vote authorizing the issuance of three notes for the purchase of the High School lot on County street as passed at the last annual meeting.
Art. 82. To see what debt the Town will vote to create for the purchase of the High School lot on County street.
The polls for the election of officers will be open at 6 o'clock in the forenoon and may be closed at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, and you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies in at least five public places in each precinct of said Town at least seven days before the time of said meeting.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at or before the time of said meeting. Both of said days will consti- tute the annual Town meeting and this call is issued in accordance with a vote of the Town passed October 29, I909.
