THE Assessors for 1866 report the present real estate valuation of this city at $10,241,540, an increase of $1,233,690 over last year ; valuation of personal property $4,755,480, an increase of $970,570 ; total valuation $14,997,020. The number of polls is 5,685, which is 209 more than last year. The fine new school-houses and churches in course of erection or just completed, and public improvements as to sewerage, sidewalks, etc., are some of the causes and results of this prosperity.
