VISIT OUR RETAIL STORE

The above picture shows our large retail store, located on the corner of Washington and Essex streets, one of Salem's leading business corners, Since its recent enlargement it is one of the largest and finest Jewelry Stores in the country. It is one of the show places of Salem - and, indeed, of New England.

This store is for YOU and we want you to come in as often as you wish to, and stay just as long as you like, regardless of whether you wish to make any purchases. We are constantly adding new and attractive goods, and no matter how often you come, you will always find something new and interesting to look at.

Our stock is unusually large and varied, and on account of our large Mail Order Business we are able to sell goods at exceptionally low prices.

Each year we get out a handsome illustrated Year Book of 250 pages. A copy will be sent to you free upon request.

CITY OF BEVERLY

STREET AND HOUSE DIRECTORY

Giving the location of the streets, places, parks, squares, etc., and showing what other streets and places run from them or across them, with the point at which they intersect. The system adopted for numbering the streets of the city is that a person starting at the beginning of any street, and following along with the numbers, every even number will be on the left and every odd number on the right hand, with the names of heads of families and persons in business in the order of location.

The cipher (0) is used to designate houses or buildings without numbers. The dash (-) is used to show where connecting streets and avenues cross or intersect, when such intersections or crossings have no numbers, and also to designate railroad crossings and bridges, parks, etc. When there is more than one family in a house, the down stairs name is given first.

Abbreviations: Ave., avenue; byd., beyond; groc., groceries; jct., junction; n., near; opp., opposite; r., rear; rep., repairing; smr., summer; s. r., summer resident; var., variety, etc., etc.
