Selected No. 1 .- No slate to be less than full six thirty-seconds of an inch in thickness. All corners must be cut square and full, and Both Surfaces Level and Smooth.
Standard Thick .- No slate to be less than full six thirty-seconds of an inch in thickness. One surface must be Level, ali corners cut square and full.
Never allow the holes in roof slates to be punched, because punching badly damages the slate.
Architects should always spevify that the holes shall be bored and countersunk, and thereby avoid the injury to the slate from percussion.
Slate tiles and roof slates in any size and thickness, with edges sawn and holes bored and countersunk, will be furnished upon de- scriptive specifications.
To avoid misunderstanding, the re- quired thickness of roof slates should be particularly specified by the archi- icct. This is more highly important than to specify the size of slates to be used.
Monson slates are exceedingly valuable to buildings because of unfading color, great flexibility, superior toughness, uniformity in thickness, and general smoothness of sur- face.
Upon request, prices will be quoted, de- liverable at any railroad station in America.
All slates bored and countersunk free of charge.
