THE DOUBLE HOLLOW PRESS PLATE CO. LOWELL, MASS.
We solicit the attention of manufacturers of Textile Fabrics to our latest improvements of Plates and Presses. We are now able to furnish Plates positively Steam and Water tight. These Plates are welded and thoroughly riveted, and warranted perfectly free from leaks. We have improved on the old method of metallic tubing, by using no stuffing boxes, and are posi- tively free from leaks, as on the common stuffing boxes so commonly used, and have a most excellent method of Rubber Connections with Steam and Water Tight Couplings, and we believe this to be the best method of connections for Plates. It requires no work under the floor where the Press sits ; by this means it brings all connections on the same floor with the Press, therefore making it much less complicated and easier to be taken care of, and less expense to keep it in repair, requir- ing no machinist to take care of them.
The Rubber Connections. have row been in use over four years and give the best satisfaction. Parties now nsing both kinds (Rubber and Metallic tubing) give Rubber the preference.
The Plates are suspended from a singlestand with adjustable bearings, without a possibility of the Plates eatehing or slip- ping. They are lifted apart for laying in Packs by worm or gear movement, and ean be lifted a greater or less distanee as the packs may require. They are lifted easier than by any other method and no possibility of falling back. The methods for making the Steam and Water Connections are positively tight, the Steam Connections and fingers for suspending the Plates are so arranged that it gives all the surface of the Plate for the goods, thereby leaving no obstructions in placing them.
We have purchased of Messrs. WESTON & DENNIS their Patents on Plates and Connections ; also their Double Screw Anti-friction Presses, which are so highly favored in the market. We are the only manufacturers of the celebrated Presses with Hollow Plates and Indicato and Stop Motion, which avoid all danger of accidents. We warrant these Presses from 100 to 400 tons' pressure.
These Presses are adapted to all purposes the Hydraulics are, and without many of the objections they are subject to.
We provide the Counters on the Presses, therefore requiring only a Pulley on the main line to be furnished by the mills. All work warranted.
Can furnish the best PRESS PAPERS at the lowest prices
