GEORGE ABBOTT, Auditor.

In concluding I wish to state, it has been my ambition to keep the expenditures within the appropriation made by the town, and owing to the energy and good will of help employed and the work done by the several assistants appointed. Messrs. G. H. Dudley. Geo. Fairfieid. L. A. Buffum, S. P. Rawson, Chas. Sibley, and W. L. Church, it has been done with a small margin left, (which fact has not been very generally practiced in the last three years).

More money appropriated for roads will give us better roads and owing to the great and increasing amount of bicycle travel, the tax levied upon bicycles, and the prohibiting of riding on sidewalks, harder and smoother roads are naturally demanded.

In looking into the future for another year, with the possibil- ity of a mile or two of state road running through our village, the passing of a state law requiring wider tires on heavy team wagons, I think we may truthfully say the prospect is bright for better roads.

ARTHUR F. JONES, Road Commissioner.
