MERRIMAC TOWN REPORT
REPORT OF TOWN TREASURER
To the Citizens of Merrimac:
During the past year 5,971 checks were issued.
$67,000.00 was borrowed in anticipation of taxes of which $30,000.00 was outstanding on January 1, 1933. The extremely favorable discount rates obtained in 1931 could not be duplicated in 1932. The higher rates paid in 1932 were however equally as much a result of abnormal general financial conditions as were the exceedingly low rates paid on the majority of the 1931 notes.
The funded or fixed debt, totals $8,000.00, of which $2,000.00 matures in 1933.
The legal limit for revenue loans in 1933 is $101,938.25.
Respectfully submitted,
ROY C. JOURNEAY,
Town Treasurer.
