*The Welfare Accounts Receivable Balance of $4,054.20 is now a true balance as an actual asset, as $2,407.21 carried as an as et in this balance in previous years was as a result of the recent State Audit abated in July 1940, being for amounts uncollect- able paid by the Town of Merrimac on State Settlement cases prior to May 1, 1935 for which amount of $2,407.21 no list of identification of individual cases has ever been found by the present Town Accountant or State Auditors, this matter being referred to in the Summary of State audit presented in another part of this report.
