Article 73. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro- priate any sum of money for the resurfacing of North Street, Vil- lage of Three Rivers, beginning at Pytka's Bakery and running northerly to the Falmer-Belchertown Line, a distance of approx- imately twelve hundred (1200) feet, or take any action relative thereto.


Article 74. To see if the town will vote to resurface South Main Street, Depot Village, with Type I Asphalt, beginning at the South Main Street Railroad Bridge and running southerly to Fox Street, a distance of approximately three thousand (3000) feet, and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor, or take any action relative thereto.


Article 75. To see if the town will vote to improve Blan- chard Street in the Depot Village and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.


Article 76. To see if the town will vote to improve Summer Street in the Village of Thorndike from the residence of one Goddu to the residence of one Devereaux and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.

Article 78. To see if the town will vote to improve Squier Street Extension in the Depot Village and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.


Article 79. To see if the town will vote to improve Arnold Street in the Depot Village beginning at North Main Street and running a distance of approximately four hundred and fifty (450) feet and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.


Article 80. To see if the town will vote to improve Beech Street in the Lake Thompson Area and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.

Article 83. To see if the town will vote to install, maintain and raise and appropriate money for additional street lights as follows:


(a) One light on Pole #43, Old Warren Road, near the Bigda residence;


(b) One light at intersection of Winthrop and Park Streets, Depot Village;


(c) One light on Pole #96, (Cemetery Hill) High Street, Village of Thorndike;


(d) Light on Pole #8, southeast corner of Longview and Buckland Streets, Depot Village; Light on Pole #11, Longview Street Extension opposite residence of Golas, Depot Village; Light on Pole #94 on Buckland Street Extension opposite resi- dence of Hodson, Depot Village;


(e) Light on Pole #2, Shearer Street, Depot Village;


(f) Light near the garage and residence of John Lizak, Old Warren Road;


(g) Light on East Street, Village of Three Rivers on Pole #9;


(h) Light on Allen Street, Depot Village, opposite residence of George Mackenzie;


(i) Light at entrance to Countryside Bakery, Village of Thorndike;


(j) Four lights on Springfield Road, Village of Three Rivers beginning at last light and continuing north to the Palmer Wil- braham line;

Article 84. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro-

priate any sum of money to improve East Street in the Village of Bondsville.


Article 85. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of $25.00 to be expended in the town by the Hamp- den County Trustees for Aid to Agriculture in accordance with the provisions of the General Laws of Massachusetts, Chapter 128, Section 42.


Article 86. To see if the town will vote to accept the pro- visions of Section 6B of Chapter 40 of the General Laws which authorizes appropriations for money for the purchase of uni- forms for members of its police department.


Article 87. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro- priate any sum of money for the purchase of the following equip- ment for use of the Highway Department:


(a) one 3/4 yard front-end loader;


(b) one 21/2 ton dump truck;


(c) one ton roller;


(d) two sand boxes for use on the existing dump trucks, or take any action relative +hereto.


Article 88. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro- priate any sum of money for the purchase of a new Police Cruiser for use of the Police Department, or take any action relative thereto.


Article 89. To see if the town will vote to improve Main Street, Village of Bondsville from State Street to Spring Street, a distance of approximately two thousand (2000) feet, and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.


Article 90. To see if the town will vote to improve Breck- enridge Street from the residence of Cox to the property of Hink- son Paper Company, a distance of approximately eighteen hund- red (1800) feet, and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.


Article 91. To see if the town will vote to improve Mason Road from the residence of Peterson and extending approximate- ly two (2) miles, and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.


Article 92. To see if the town will vote to improve Mason Road from the MacLean Farm southwesterly to Nipmuck Road and raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.


Article 93. To see if the town will vote to erect and main- tain a suitable memorial to those of this town who lost their

lives in military or naval service in World War II, and raise and appropriate money for the same, or take any action relative thereto.


Article 94. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro- priate money for the construction of new walks and curbings as follows:


(a) Concrete walk with curb bordering the property of Ab- bate, 19-21 Maple Street, Depot Village, approximately eighty- five (85) feet;


(b) Walk and curb on northerly side of Shearer Street, from North Main Street to Fairview Street;


(c) Concrete walk with curb on easterly side of School Street, Village of Thorndike from Main Street to High Street, approximately four hundred (400) feet;


(d) Concrete or asphalt walk with curb on Ford Street, Vil- lage of Three Rivers, from residence of Frank Wojtowicz to that of Lawrence Zelazo, approximately one thousand five hundred (1500) feet;


(e) Concrete walk from St. Joseph Club, Commercial Street, Village of Thorndike to residence of Pietryka, approxi- mately two hundred fifty (250) feet;


(f) Extension of present walk on Church Street, Village of Thorndike;


(g) Walk with curb on northerly side of Pleasant Street, Village of Thorndike from residence of Karczmarczyk to resi- dence of Witkoski, approximately six hundred (600) feet;


(h) Walk on north side of Chudy Street, Village of Three Rivers running westerly from Belchertown Street;


(i) Walks on both sides of LaRivierre Street, Village of Three Rivers;


(j) Walk and curbing on westerly side of North Main Street, Depot Village from Lathrop to Arnold Street;


(k) Sidewalk in front of home of Dr. James R. Flaherty, 10 Squier Street, Depot Village;


(1) Walk and curb on east side of Knox Street, Depot Vil- lage from Main Street north to Pine Street;


(m) Sidewalk and curb on Pleasant Street, Depot Village, South side from Thorndike Street to Central Street;


(n) )Sidewalk and curb on Pleasant Street, Depot Village, North side, from Central Street to Walnut Street;


(o) Sidewalk on Central Street, Depot Village, West side f:om Main Street to Pleasant Street;

(x) Sidewalk and curb on South Main Street, Depot Vil- lage, North side, from the property of Palmer Motor Sales, Inc. westerly to a point opposite Fox Street;


(y) Sidewalk and curb on South Main Street, Depot Vil- lage, South side, from Strong Street westerly to Fox Street;


(z) Sidewalk and curb on North Main Street, Depot Vil- lage, East side, from the Quabaug School northerly to Wright Street, a distance of approximately five hundred sixty-five (565) feet.


Article 95. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro- priate any sum of money for the construction of sewers and necessary catch basins as follows:


(a) Sewer in High Street, Depot Village, from School Street easterly a distance of approximately six hundred and fifty (650) feet;


(b) Sewer in Cheney Street, Village of Three Rivers;


(c) Sewer in Cedar Street, Village of Three Rivers;


(d) Sewer in East Street, Village of Three Rivers;


(e) Sewer in River Street, Village of Thorndike, from the end of the present sewer line a distance of approximately fifteen hundred (1500) feet;


(f) Sewer in North Street, Village of Three Rivers from Pytka's Bakery northerly to Palmer-Belchertown line, a dis- tance of approximately twelve hundred (1200) feet;

(g) Sewer in South Main Street, Village of Bondsville, from Pine Street easterly approximately five hundred feet (500);


(h) Sewer in South Main Street, Depot Village, from the residence of Bradley southerly a distance of approximately three hundred (300) feet;


(i) Sewer in South Main Street, Depot Village, from Strong Street to Packard Street.


Article 96. To see if the town will vote to accept the fol- lowing Perpetual Care Funds which have been given to it during the year: Clara S. French $100.00; Victor M. French $100.00; Hattie W. Farnham $50.00; Maud H. Fiske $100.00; Else Thomp- son $200.00; Laura R. Sherman $100.00; Edwin E. Brooks $500.00; Elizabeth B. Collis $100.00; Mabel F. Brooks $200.00; Isabelle Maxwell $100.00; Minnie C. Smith $100.00; Jennie M. Draper $150.00.


Article 97. To see if the town will accept and allow a town way in the Depot Village of Palmer as shown on plan entitled "Plan Showing Layout of Roosevelt Street, Depot Village, Pal- mer, Massachusetts", dated December 1952, prepared by T. D. Crimmins, C. E., as laid out by the selectmen according to the following description:


Beginning at a concrete bound in the ground in the easterly line of North Main Street; thence running N 70° 08' E six hundred (600) feet to a concrete bound in the ground in the westerly line cf Fairview Street; thence N 19º 52' W along Fairview Street, as shown on said plan fifty (50) feet to a point; thence turning and running S 70° 08' W five hundred eighty-nine and 43/100 (589.43) feet to a point in the easterly line of said North Main Street; thence S 7º 55' E along the easterly line of North Main Street fifty and 10/100 (50.10) feet to the point of beginning; said Street is to be known as Roosevelt Street.


Article 98. To see if the town will accept and allow a town way in the Village of Three Rivers as shown on plan entitled "Plan Showing Layout of Cheney Street in Three Rivers, Pre- cinct C, Town of Palmer", dated November 21, 1951, prepared by T. D. Crimmins, C. E., Town Engineer, according to the following description:


Beginning at an iron pin in the easterly line of Quaboag Street, said iron pin being located northeasterly a distance of five hundred fifty (550) feet from the concrete bound marking the point of intersection of the easterly line of said Quaboag Street and the northerly line of Ford Street; thence at right angles to the easterly line of said Quaboag Street a distance of six hundred ninety (690) feet to an iron pin; thence northeaster- ly at right angles to said last described line a distance of thirty

(30) feet to an iron pin; thence northwesterly in a line parallel to and thirty (30) feet distant from the first described line a dis- tance of six hundred ninety (690) feet to an iron pin in the east- erly side of said Quaboag Street; thence southwesterly along the easterly line of said Quaboag Street a distance of thirty (30) feet to the point of beginning; said Street is to be known as Cheney Street. Said town way is laid out over land supposed to belong to the Three Rivers Fire District, Town of Falmer; to see if the town will take in fee, for highway purposes, the land above described, and raise and appropriate any sum of money for the purpose of taking said land and paying compensation therefor to the owners thereof.


Article 99. To see if the town will accept and allow a town way in the Lake Thompson District of Palmer, as shown on plan entitled "Plan Showing Layout of Beech Street Lake Thompson District, Palmer Massachusetts", dated Dec. 1952 prepared by T. D. Crimmins, C. E., as laid out by the selectmen according to the following description:


Beginning at a concrete bound in the southwesterly side of South Street in line of land of Donald E. Smith; thence S 26° 36' W a distance of two hundred thirty-seven and 50/100 (237.50) feet to a point; thence turning and running S 12º 13' W a distance of three hundred seventy-seven and 15/100 (377.15) feet to a point; thence turning and running S 26° 38' W a distance of two hund- .red fifty (250) feet to a point; thence turning and running S 210° 28' W a distance of three hundred sixty-two and 88/100 (362.88) feet to a point; thence turning and running S 28° 16' W a dis- tance of one hundred thirty-one and 95/100 (131.95) feet to a con- crete bound in the ground at the southerly terminus of the pre- sent taking;


The above description is the easterly location line of said Beech Street. The westerly location line is parallel to and fifty (50) feet distant from the easterly location line as shown on said plan. The Street is laid out fifty (50) feet in width over land believed to belong to Donald E. Smith, George E. Scott, and Lake Thompson Civic Association, Inc .; said street is to be known as Beech Street.


Article 100. To see if the town will accept and allow a town way in the Depot Village of Palmer as shown on Plan entitled "Flan Showing Layout of Arnold Street, (also known as Arnold Street Extension) Depot Village, Palmer, Massachusetts", dated December 1952, prepared by T. D. Crimmins, C. E., as laid out by the selectmen according to the following description:


Beginning at an iron pin in the ground in the northerly line of Arnold Street, said iron pin being located S 84° 35' W a dis-

iance of four hundred seventy-five (475) feet measured along said northerly line of Arnold Street from a concrete bound mark- ing the intersection of the northerly line of said Arnold Street and the westerly line of North Main Street; thence N 7º 51' 30" W a distance of one hundred seventy-seven and 13/100 (177.13) feet to the southerly line of a proposed private Street known as Peavey Street; thence S 82° 08' 30" W along said private street a distance of forty (40) feet to a point; thence S 7° 51' 30" E a distance of one hundred seventy-five and 43/100 (175.43) feet to the northerly line of said Arnold Street; thence N 84° 35' E along the northerly line of said Arnold Street forty and 04/100 (40.04) feet to the Point of Beginning; said street is to be known as Nor- man Street; said street is laid out over land of Dante Tassinari.


Article 101. To see if the town will vote to widen and im- prove Beech Street in the Lake Thompson District, Palmer from the southern terminus of the accepted fifty (50) foot street northerly to Smith Street, (also known as Smith Road) and to raise and appropriate any sum of money therefor.


And you are hereby directed to serve this warrant by post- ing up attested copies thereof in some one public place in each of the four villages of the town, known as the Depot Village, Thorn- dike, Three Rivers and Bondsville, seven days at least before the holding of said meeting and by publishing an attested copy there- of in at least two issues of the Journal-Register, a newspaper published in said Palmer, the first publication to bé not less than seven days before the holding of said meeting.


Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at or before the holding of said meeting.
