ART. 29. Voted, that the Water Commissioners are hereby instructed to procure from the Legislature an Act to allow the Town of Braintree to increase its water debt, $10,000 for the purpose of extending the water pipes on Washington Street to Holbrook and Braintree Town line, and the Treasurer is hereby instructed with the approval of the Selectmen to issue notes for such time and amount not to exceed 10 years as in his judgment he deems proper, for the payment of such ex- tension, said notes to bear interest not exceeding 32% per annum and any money remaining in the hands of the Treasurer after said pipe is laid shall be used for the purchase and installation of meters.
Voted that the Water Commissioners be instructed to pay the notes as they become due and interest on the same from the revenue of the Water Department.
.ART. 4. Voted that the committee on railroad fares appointed last year be reappointed.
Voted that said committee be instructed to try and obtain a rate on one month tickets between East Braintree and Boston in same proportion as is now charged for 3 months.

WARRANT FOR TOWN MEETING
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
Norfolk, ss. To either of the Constables of the Town of Brain tree, Greeting :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Braintaee, qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall in said Braintree, on Monday, the seventeenth day of April, 1905, at 7.45 o'clock in the evening, to act on the following articles, namely :
ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
ART. 2. To see if the town will vote to sell about nine acres of Marshland in Quincy, and authorize the Treasurer to sign in behalf of the Town all necessary deeds and papers to transfer a good title thereto.
ART. 3. To see if the town will vote to sell the building known as the West school house.
ART. 4. To see if the town will vote to establish a new heating system for the Town Hall and raise and appropriate a sum of money for the same.
You are to give notice of this meeting by posting true and attested copies of this warrant in not less than nine public places in this town, seven days at least before the time of said meeting, and by publishing the same once in the Braintree Ob- server-Reporter and Braintree Bee.

BRAINTREE, April 17, 1905.
The town met in accordance with the foregoing warrant at the time and place specified. The warrant was read by the Town Clerk.
ART. 1. By ballot, with the use of the check list B. Her- bert Woodsum was elected Moderator and was sworn by the Town Clerk.
ART. 2. Voted, that the Town sell about nine acres of marshland situated in Quincy in this county, bounded on up- land now or late of the City of Quincy and westerly on the creek or however otherwise the said land may be bounded. That said land be sold at a price satisfactory to the Treasurer of the Town, and he is authorized to sign in behalf of the Town all necessary deeds aud papers to transfer the title to said land. That the money realized from said sale shall be turned over to the School Fund Trustees for their care and management the income to be used for school purposes in the same way that the income of the other school fund property now held by said trustees is, or may be expended.
ART. 3. Voted, that the Town may sell the property known as the "West Schoolhouse" under the direction of the Selectmen and they are hereby authorized to sign in behalf of the Town all necessary papers to transfer the same.
ART. 4. Voted, to refer the matter of heating the Town House to the Selectmen with instructions to obtain informa- tion as to plans and estimates of cost, to consider the-subject of a separate building from which the Town Hall and Library could both be heated, and that they also consider the matter of remodelling the lower part of the town House with a view of relocating the various Town Offices, and report at an adjourn- ment of this meeting.
Voted that this meeting now adjourn to Monday, May, 8th 1905 at S o'clock P. M.

That the town procure and install for the purpose of heating the Town House, a boiler with suitable connections, build a building to contain the same, that the sum of -twenty five hundred dollars ($2500) is hereby appropriated to pay for the same, and that the whole matter be placed in the hands of the Board of Selectmen.

ART. 2. Voted to lay Article 2 on the table.

Voted that a committee consisting of two from each section of the Town to act in conjunction with the Board of Highway Surveyors, be appointed to consider the matter of procuring road material. The Moderator appointed John Kelly, William Allen, Warren B. Keith, Frank W. Couillard, F. Eugene Dyer and Paul Monahan as that committee.
ART. 2. Taken up. Voted, 51 in the affirmative and 2 in the negative that the Board of Water Commissioners be and they are hereby instructed to extend the main water pipe from its present termination southerly in Washington street to the Braintree and Holbrook Town Line.

"Voted 50 in the affirmative and 2 in the negative that the ""Town Treasurer be and is hereby authorized under the direc- 1 tion of the Board of Water Commissioners to issue the notes of " the Town for the aggregate sum of ten thousand ( $10,000.00) · dollars for the purpose of laying water pipes from the termin- ation of the present pipe line on Washington street to the line .of the Town of Holbrook.
Said notes to bear interest at a rate not exceeding 3 1-2 per cent. per annum and to be payable in the sum of one thous- .. and ($1000.00) dollars on May 25th of each year, beginning in the year 1906 and the Selectmen are hereby instructed to raise by taxation each year as named above, a sum sufficient to pay . each note as it falls due together with the amount of accrued interest on each note remaining unpaid.
Should there be any unexpended balance of the above named loan, the same shall be applied toward the payment of the first maturing notes.

Polling Place in Precinct No. 3, Hose House, Allen street, on Tuesday, the seventh day of November, 1905, at six o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to bring in to the Wardens of their respective Precincts their votes on the official ballot for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, Audi- tor, Attorney-general, Councillor, Senator, two Representa- tives in the General Court, County Commissioner.

In accordance with the foregoing warrant the voters as- sembled in the several precincts to cast their ballots for the several State and County Officers called for in the warrant.
The following Election Officers, viz, Charles G. Anderson Warden, John W. Cuff, Wilford F. Woodsum, Edward W. Hobart, Richard L. Arnold, William O. Pinckney, Elbridge F_ Porter, Francis T. Lyons in Precinct one, George E. Sampson,. Warden in Precinct two, Edward M. Wight, Warden in Pre- cinct three, were sworn by the Town Clerk, all other Election Officers sworn by there respective Wardens. The official bal- lots were delivered to each of the Wardens from the Town Clerk's Office and a receipt taken for the same. The polls. were opened in each Precinct at six o'clock A. M. and were. closed as follows: Precinct One at one o'clock and thirty min- utes P. M. Precinct Two at one o'clock and three minutes; P. M. Precinct three at one o'clock p. M.
The ballots were counted, record made of the votes, the re- sult declared in each precinct, the ballots, check lists etc. sealed according to law and the returns forwarded to the Office of the Town Clerk.
The returns were then opened, canvassed by the Board of Selectmen and Town Clerk and the result of the total vote pub- licly announced.

BRAINTREE Nov. 11, 1905.
A petition signed by James W. Colbert and eleven other citizens of Braintree asking for a recount of the votes cast for Henry M. Whitney and Eben S. Draper for the office of Lieutenant Governor on Tuesday the seventh day of November 1905, was filed according to law in the office of the Town Clerk of Braintree on Thursday Novembar ninth 1905, said petition was immediately transmitted to the Board of Registrars of Voters.
Said Board ordered the recount to take place at the Town House in Braintree on Saturday Nov. 11, 1905 at 2.30 o'clock P. M.
Notice of the recount was mailed to each of the candidates according to law.
The recount took place as ordered and the Board of Registrars of Voters filed with the Town Clerk the following certificate.
BRAINTREE Nov. 11, 1905.
To the Town Clerk of Braintree.
This is to certify that on this eleventh day of November 1905 the Board of Registrars of Voters under a petition signed by James W. Colbert and eleven others, citizens of Braintree and in accordance with the provisions of Sec. 267, Chapter 11 of the Revised Laws of Massachusetts did recount the votes cast in said Town for Henry M. Whitney and Eben S. Draper for the office of Lieutenant Governor at the election held Nov. 7, 1905, and find that Eben S. Draper had four hundred eighty- six, 486.
Henry M. Whitney had three hundred forty, 340. And we find that the vote was acurately counted.
