WARRANT FOR SPECIAL TOWN MEETING.


Commonwealth of Massachusetts.


Norfolk, ss. To either of the Constables of the Town of


Braintree. Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Braintree, qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet at Long's Hall, in said Braintree, on Monday, the thirtieth day of September, 1912, at 7.30 o'clock in the evening, then and there to act on the following articles, namely :


Article 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.


Art. 2. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Board of Water Commissioners to make extensions of water mains petitioned for and appropriate the sum of two thou- sand dollars for the same.


Art. 3. To see if the Town will extend the water mains in Dewey Avenue, Cedar Avenue, Oregon Avenue, Dyer Ave- nue, Pine Avenue and Winthrop Road and appropriate twelve hundred dollars for the same.


Art. 4. To see if the Town will build a drain in Sher- brooke Avenue and appropriate a sum of money for the same.


Art. 5. To see if the Town will accept the drinking fountain erected on the Jonas Perkins school grounds by the Philelrgians, the Jonas Perkins School Association and citi- zens of East Braintree.


You are to give notice of this meeting by posting true and attested copies of this warrant in not less than nine pub- lic places in this Town, seven days at least before the time of said meeting, and by publishing the same once in the Brain- tree Observer-Reporter and Braintree Bee.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk before the time of said meeting.

In accordance with the foregoing warrant the Town met at the place specified. The meeting was called to order at 7.40 o'clock, and the warrant was read by the Town Clerk.


Art. 1. By ballot, with the use of the check lists, Benja- min H. Woodsum, Jr., was elected Moderator and sworn by the Town Clerk.


Art. 2. Voted, on motion of Mr. Abercrombie that the Water Board be instructed to lay the water main in Cedar. Street, petitioned for and that the expense of the same be paid from the receipts of the Water Department.


Art. 3. - Indefinitely postponed.


Art. 4. Voted, on motion of Mr. Colbert to instruct the Highway Surveyors to build a drain in Sherbrooke Avenue before Dec. 1st, 1912.


Art. 5. Voted, on motion of Mr. Storm, that the Town accept the drinking fountain erected on the Jonas Perkins School grounds, by the Philergians, Jonas Perkins School Association and Citizens of East Braintree, and enter upon the records the names of the Committees having the matter in charge.

Amendment to the Constitution Disqualifying from Voting Persons convicted of certain offences. (Chap. 21, Resolves of 1912.)


Amendment to the Constitution relative to the Taxation of wild or forest lands. (Chap. 115, Resolves of 1912.)


Acceptance of Chap. 503, Acts of 1912, entitled, "An Act relative to pensioning laborers in the employ of cities and towns."


The polls will be kept open until one o'clock in the af- ternoon.


You are directed to serve this warrant by posting true and attested copies thereof in not less than three public places in each Precinct in said Town, seven days at least before the said fifth day of November, 1912, and by publishing the same once in the Braintree Observer-Reporter and Braintree Bee.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Selectmen before the time of said election.
