In submitting my report as Chief of Police for the year 1921, I wish to direct attention to the volume of business performed by the Police Department, with the various duties that devolve upon the same, in the maintenance of law and order, as appear in the enumeration above, and as confirmed by the official records of our Court, and other agencies, promoting the administration of justice in the Town.

Obedience, and respect for law, I believe is desired by all good citizens, and although some offenders, by cunning, subtle devises may have escaped detection, I believe, as far as limited resources will permit, I have reduced crime and violation of law within the town limits to a minimum, and this is due in a large measure to the unselfish devotion to duty of the officers comprising the force, who have faithfully and loyally co-operated with me, performing the duty as- signed to them without complaint, and in many cases responding to the call in emergencies, after their period of regular duty had passed. This harmonious co-operation is in contrast to previous years, and has been an inspiration and great help to me in the enforcement of law.
