Flint Public Library.

NINETEENTH ANNUAL REPORT.

Another year has been added to our history as a Library, and we are pleased to note the continued appreci- ation of the advantages afforded this community in a Li- brary so well furnished with recent publications, valuable books of reference and current periodical literature.

A large number of new books have been added to. the Library during the past year, and a few worn out books have been replaced by new ones.

Among the new books which have been purchased is a fine set of the Century Dictionary, which with the Ency- clopedias already on our shelves afford ample opportunity for special research.

We acknowledge with thanks the gift, on June 17th, of the bust of Sir Walter Scott, by Mrs. William C. Endicott. It is very pleasant to have our Library remembered in this way by a descendant of one of the early ministers of this town, Rev. Elias Smith.

The Library is indebted to Mr. W. S. Armstrong of Dolgeville, N. Y., for the Dolgeville Herald, and to the pro- prietors of the Woman's Journal for a copy weekly of that paper. We are furnished gratuitously with Traveller's Record and Good Roads.

Following are the publications to be found in the read- ing room :

Weekly :- Youth's Companion, Life, Harper's, Scientific American, Woman's Journal, Good Roads and Dolgeville Herald.
